Hendersonville leaders looking to relocate post office

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The City of Hendersonville is a step closer to relocating its post office. Leaders say the one they have now is very outdated, doesn't meet the needs of residents, and constantly has lines out the door. In this week's Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting, Alderman Mark Skidmore stated that they haven't had a new post office built since Jimmy Carter was president, which was in 1976. Right now, the post office is located at 105 Imperial Boulevard. Skidmore says the building is consistently packed with people. Neighborhood News: Stories impacting your community | Read More There has been a lot of chatter about where the post office will be relocated, but a specific location is not mentioned in the resolution, because the board does not have the authority to make that decision. It's on the federal government. The resolution simply notifies leaders in Washington that the city is in need of a post office, and it gets the process going. Skidmore says another conversation they've floated around is having multiple post offices instead of one larger one. 'There's been a possibility, which I think is a very wise suggestion, that maybe we have two post offices. Keep that one there, and then maybe explore somewhere else, which is fine with us.' As the city continues to have this conversation, they agreed to form a committee that can head up the responsibilities to make this happen. Do you have news happening in your neighborhood? Epic fail: the Ligier JS5 F1 car's 'teapot' airbox

Epic Fail Given a nickname for its unconventional design, regulation changes consigned it to history after four races Skip 1 photos in the image carousel and continue reading The problem with F1 cars today is, they're so ugly. All those slats and fins and petrochemical sponsor logos: it's not like the good old days, when every Grand Prix racer was a sleek, sinuous slice of pure (tobacco branded) beauty. Only, they weren't, were they? Sure, the good old days did contain some very pretty F1 cars – when Epic Fail is sad, Epic Fail spends a while looking at photos of the Lotus 72, which tends to help matters – but they also contained a whole bunch of utter horror shows. Advertisement - Page continues below Such as Ligier's JS5, the 1976 F1 entrant that sported an airbox so bulbous it was christened 'The Teapot'. Consider it an automotive Rorschach test: what do you see in that curvaceous funnel? Smurf hat? Squid Game guard? The exit hole of a marsupial? Quite why the Ligier JS5's extraordinary protuberance was quite so extraordinarily protuberant remains unclear. Its primary purpose was to funnel cool air to the Ligier's 3.0-litre Matra V12, but other teams of the era achieved the same effect with airboxes that didn't look like haunted sculptures from an especially creepy kids' theme park. You might like The JS5 may have been ugly as a fungal toenail, but it wasn't slow. Though it retired early on its first two outings – perhaps out of sympathy for the eyes of onlookers – the Teapot then recorded a fourth place at Long Beach, California, in the hands of French racer Jacques Lafitte, who at least had the benefit of not having to look at the mega snout. But a flower blooms only for a season. After just four races, as F1 tweaked the regulations to prevent any airbox extending beyond the roll hoop, the JS5 was revised to resemble a regular racecar. We have never witnessed the Teapot's like since, and for that we must all be thankful. Advertisement - Page continues below Thank you for subscribing to our newsletter. Freddie Mercury's secret child took DNA test to PROVE she was Queen legend's daughter – as author of book hits out

FREDDIE Mercury's secret daughter has taken a DNA test to prove the rockstar is her dad. According to a new book, a woman was born in 1976 after the singer had a fling with a close pal's wife. 3 3 And now the author of the book has insisted the shock claims can be backed up. In a message on X today, she hit back at questions, writing: 'To those 'demanding' to see proof of a DNA test, otherwise they won't believe it - please rest assured that the requisite verification was obtained, legal teams have been involved, but that such measures are private and not shared publicly.' The woman, now 48, claims she was raised by another family but always knew Freddie was her father, with the frontman visiting her often before his death in 1991, aged 45. The secret is said to have been kept strictly between Queen members, Freddie's family and long-term partner Mary Austin. The woman, known as "B", says in a handwritten letter: "Fred- die Mercury was and is my father. We had a very close and loving relationship from the moment I was born and throughout the final 15 years of his life. He adored me and was devoted to me. "The circumstances of my birth may seem, by most people's standards, unusual and even outrageous. That should come as no surprise. It never detracted from his commitment to love and look after me. He cherished me like a treasured possession." She lives in Europe working as a medical professional with children of her own. Lesley-Ann Jones, author of new book Love, Freddie, was initially sceptical. But she is convinced after working with her for several years. She said: "My instinct was to doubt everything, but I am absolutely sure she is not a fantasist. No one could have faked all this. Why would she have worked with me for three-and-a-half years, never demanding anything? "In my experience of fantasists, and I've met a few, they seek instant gratification, publicity and reward. She has never asked for money. Freddie Mercury's lost song 'Time Waits for No One' is found after decade long search "She doesn't want recognition. Both Freddie and her stepfather left her extremely wealthy. She was not provided for through Freddie's will, but by a private legal arrangement, so no one will find her mentioned there." The Radio Ga Ga star is said to have given his daughter 17 volumes of his personal journals before his death from Aids-related pneumonia. The author also hit back at claims that the diary could have been fake by AI, writing: 'To those insisting Freddie Mercury's diaries were faked with AI, that his daughter 'doesn't exist' and that I've made the whole thing up: wait and see. His true story, told in his own words, is incredible. I love him all the more for it. You will too.' Freddie, who had relationships with men and women, had no kids with Mary. She later had two sons with another partner. 3

Freddie Mercury's Alleged Child Revealed in New Biography

The post Freddie Mercury's Alleged Child Revealed in New Biography appeared first on Consequence. A woman claiming to be Freddie Mercury's secret daughter has come forward for the first time in a new biography about the legendary Queen singer. According to the upcoming book Love, Freddie by Lesley-Ann Jones, the child was conceived accidentally during an affair between Mercury and the wife of a close friend in 1976. Mercury remained involved in the child's life from the moment she was born until his death in 1991, though her existence was known only to members of his inner circle. The woman, who has chosen to identify herself as 'B,' is now 48 years old and works as a medical professional in Europe. Upon learning of the pregnancy, Mercury reportedly began chronicling his life story in a series of diaries. In total, he wrote 17 volumes, which he delivered to 'B' before his passing. 'B' shared the contents of these diaries with Jones for Love, Freddie. 'He entrusted his collection of private notebooks to me, his only child and his next of kin, the written record of his private thoughts, memories and feelings about everything he had experienced,' 'B' said in an interview with The Daily Mail. 'After more than three decades of lies, speculation and distortion, it is time to let Freddie speak,' she added. Jones said she first learned about 'B''s existence three years ago, and is 'absolutely sure she is not a fantasist.' 'No one could have faked all this. Why would she have worked with me for three and a half years, never demanding anything?'
