Family abseiled to safety after getting stuck on Eryri mountain

More info A family had to be abseiled to safety after getting stuck on an Eryri mountain at the weekend. The incident happened on Tryfan on the east face as they climbed the 1st Pinnacle Rib route on Saturday. An Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation statement said: "A family group of three were climbing 1st Pinnacle Rib route on the east face of Tryfan but after a few pitches lost the route and were stuck on steep ground so called for assistance. Team members already at base deployed with tech kit and rescue936 was also tasked to try and locate the group. "They were spotted slightly off route, mid-way up, but could not be winched so a hill team climbed up to their location. The three were then assisted in multiple abseils back down the route to the heather terrace path and assisted back off the hill down to the roadside."
