Everything was going right for the senior on Friday, as he sank 20-of-31 shots in a 98-79 victory. The Post Crescent livestreamed the game, and you can see highlights of the game, including the moment Kauwenberg set the record, here.
Van Kauwenberg will likely be a candidate for the Northeast Wisconsin HSSA honor again this year, along with a loaded field that includes De Pere's Zach Kinziger and Oshkosh North's Xzavion Mitchell.
The 2024-25 Northeast Wisconsin High School Sports Awards, Presented by Piggly Wiggly, are June 20 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. The show is produced with the support of Cellcom.
