United Way impact grant applications available for local nonprofits
Mar. 21—BEMIDJI — The 2025 United Way of Bemidji Area grant application process is open for nonprofits who serve clients in Beltrami County. Guidelines and application materials are available online at To be considered, agencies must be incorporated; not-for-profit and IRS tax-exempt with 501(c)3 documentation; be non-discriminatory; have active, rotating volunteer leadership that represents diverse elements of the Bemidji area; and have sound financial program management, a release said. In addition, the agency must provide a local community service based on documented need(s) within one or more of United Way's community impact areas: * Youth Opportunity (Education): Preparing young people to realize their potential from cradle to career. * Financial Stability (Basic needs): Creating a stronger financial future for every generation. * Healthy Community (Health): Improving health and well-being for all. Applications, including financials, will be reviewed by a local volunteer committee, the Community Investment Cabinet. Members of the committee will make site visits to all applying agencies to ensure donor dollars are well spent and results are delivered, the release said. The application deadline is 4 p.m. on Monday, March 31. For additional questions about the grant or grant process, contact Annie at annie@ or (218) 444-8929. Final investment decisions will be approved by the United Way of Bemidji Area Board of Directors in June. Funding for this cycle comes from dollars raised through the 2024 Campaign for the Community.
