French bulldog ‘Poppy' reported inside vehicle stolen in New Canaan
NEW CANAAN, Conn. (WTNH) — New Canaan police are searching for vehicle they say was stolen with a French bulldog inside over the weekend.
Police said the incident happened at a parking space in the area of 80 Main Street around 11:47 a.m. Sunday.

A brown French bulldog named Poppy was inside the Range Rover when it was left unoccupied and running with the keys inside, according to police.
Police responding to the area tried to stop the stolen vehicle, but it sped away and entered the Merritt Parkway northbound at Exit 38. Police decided to stop the pursuit, in accordance with state law.
According to officials with the nonprofit 'CT Dog Gone Recovery,' the white 2024 Range Rover was last seen in the Meriden, New Britain and North Haven areas.
The organization posted a $10,000 'no questions asked' reward for Poppy's return.
Various area agencies are investigating the incident and working to find the stolen vehicle and dog.

Police also said they've seen an increase in reports of vehicles stolen during daylight hours, along with continued thefts overnight.
Most of the incidents happen when the vehicle involved is unlocked and with the key or key fob inside. Vehicle owners should always lock their car doors and not leave anything valuable in the vehicle, including the keys.
If your vehicle is stolen, police ask you to call 911 immediately and avoid engaging with the subjects.
