The New York Yankees are the best team in the American League East and are about to get even stronger.
Greg Joyce of the New York Post reported over the weekend that the Yankees slugger is headed to Tampa for two weeks to take live batting practice. Stanton was a massive piece of the Yankees' run to the World Series last season, and his return is expected to make the Yankees' lineup more dangerous.

PhotoStanton has yet to make an appearance for this season as he has been dealing with tennis elbow in both arms since he showed up for spring training. The team has yet to decide on whether he will need a rehab stint before returning, but the wait for Stanton is nearing an end as he begins to take live swings in Tampa.
With Stanton missing spring training and the first two months of the season and counting, the Yankees want to be sure to give their star enough time to prepare and be ready to return to the lineup every day.
"Obviously that looks a little bit different for him in that he's not playing the field," manager Aaron Boone said about his slugger's return, per the Post.
The Yankees' offense enters Tuesday as the second-best in the league when it comes to runs, and it is only going to get stronger when Stanton returns. The Yankees lead the American League East and with Jazz Chisholm Jr. getting ready to return to a rehab stint, the Yankees' offense will be back to full force in short order.
