31 veterans are heading to Washing D.C. thanks to Honor Flight of Northern New Mexico
NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Honor Flight of Northern New Mexico is sending 31 veterans to Washington DC to see monuments and memorials dedicated to those who served. The group is set to leave June 11, 2025 and return home June 13, 2025.
First-of-its-kind indoor pickleball facility coming to northeast Albuquerque
This year the traveling party includes a WWII veteran who will turn 100 in August. The trip also includes two Korean War veterans, one cold war veteran and 27 Vietnam War veterans. The community is encouraged to show up to the Sunport on June 13, at 1:30 p.m. to welcome the group home.
The organization holds a number of fundraising events the be able to send veterans on the trip each year. Upcoming fundraisers include the 2025 Brewathlon cornhole and pong tournament on May 31, from 3 – 6 p.m. at Brew Lab 101 in Rio Rancho. The annual golf tournament is coming on September 12, at Isleta Eagle Golf Course. For more information, click here.
