Road contruction projects to delay traffic this week
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The City of Grand Junction has been working on different road projects that will cause travel restrictions for residents.
The projects that will affect traffic this week include:
Crosby Avenue will be closed to through traffic from Main Street to West Gunnison to relocate utilities. This construction is scheduled to take place throughout June.
Horizon Drive and G Road Roundabout construction will be ongoing through October. Individuals are advised to follow directions from traffic control and temporary detour signs.
29 Road will have lane shifts between North Avenue and Patterson Road all week for road paving.
4th Street between Grand Avenue and North Avenue will have rolling closures to through traffic with detours for restriping. There will still be access to local residences and businesses, but individuals will not be able to park on the west side of the street.
The 2025 Chipseal Program, which will add a protective wearing surface to increase road service life, will take place on North Avenue to Grand Avenue and 1st Street to I-70 B from June 9 to July 18. There will be no designated parking on the sides of the street.
Unaweep Avenue will have lane shifts between Kathy Lynn and 27 3/8 Road all week due to paving.
In addition to the city's road construction projects, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be working on the I-70 Business Loop. For the project, 1st Street, Ute Avenue and Pitkin Avenue will all be one lane.
