George Russell and Carmen Montero Mundt steal spotlight at French Open final, fans say 'You were more on TV than Carlos Alcaraz'

Mercedes driver George Russell and girlfriend Carmen Montero Mundt attended the French Open finals (Roland-Garros) together in Paris. The couple were among the high-profile attendees in the stands as they watched the longest-ever French Open final, which ended with Carlos Alcaraz winning over Jannik Sinner.
Many of Russell's fans joked that he was shown more on camera than the actual participants.

Sharing a few pictures from the match on Instagram, George Russell said, 'What an insane match of tennis at Roland Garros!! Both worthy winners!! (clapping emojis) Congratulations @carlitosalcarazz & @janniksin on a crazy match.'
Russell's fans loved the post and his girlfriend. A fan reacted, 'You guys are so cute together.' Another said, 'One of the best tennis match ever, a level out of this world by both players. George and Carmen look awesome as always.' One more said, 'She's Gorgeous!'
A fan also commented, 'Best part was seeing you in the TV for 4 seconds.' Another said, 'Man you were more on my TV than Alcaraz.' One more said, 'You were on TV so much I thought you were going to play. In any case what a match and bravo to Carlos and Sinner.' A comment also read: 'Thanks for backing Sinner, even with the whole crowd cheering for Alcaraz!'
George Russell is currently in fourth position in the 2025 Driver Standings with 111 points and four podiums.
He won second place at the Bahrain Grand Prix and third place at the Australian Grand Prix, Chinese Grand Prix, and the Miami Grand Prix.
Russell and Mundt have been together for five years. She is a finance professional and is often spotted cheering for the Formula 1 driver at races. In February, she shared a post to mark five years of togetherness. Sharing a beautiful candid picture of them together, she wrote, 'Five years with the most wonderful person I could ever ask for, forever proud of who you are and what you do.'

Russell will now be seen participating at the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal. He has been struggling with his form in recent races and is yet to reach the podium since the Miami race.
