MUSCAT, May 7 Oman beach soccer team ended its journey at 2025 Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup in Seychelles from an early stage as they suffered a 11-1 loss against world champions Brazil in the concluding Group D match on Tuesday night. The national team could not manage to move into the knockout stage for the first time in history in their sixth participation at the beach soccer world championships. Oman began their campaign in the tournament with a difficult 7-4 loss against Italy, runners up of the last edition. Then, the team managed to earn a victory against El Salvador through penalty shoot-out as the match ended at 4-4 draw. The only victory was not enough for the team to move into the next round as Italy joined Brazil to the following phase of the championship after they blanked El Salvador by 5-0. It was a one-sided match against Brazil as their players delivered a dominant performance. Edson Hulk opened the scoring early in the first period while Rodrigo added a spectacular acrobatic finish to double the lead for his team. Two more goals were scored in the opening period as Thanger's powerful left-footed strike made it 3-0, while Brendo raised the scoring gap to a 4-0 lead before the period end by two minutes. In the following period, Oman players pressed hard to find a goal but the defending area of the opponents blocked all chances as there were no goals in this period from both sides. In the final set, the world champions raised their attacking focus as they managed to have a goal-scoring spree. Benjinha's penalty strike bounced past the Omani goalkeeper, followed quickly by a sublime goal from Catarino and another goal from Brendo to make it 7-0. Oman's Sami al Balushi scored the only goal for Oman team but the response was so quick from Brazil side as Catarino completed his hat-trick, and goals from Mauricinho and Benjinha sealed an overwhelming 11-1 victory over Oman. Italy snatched showed a solid performance to defeat El Salvador 5-0 in their final group stage clash to join Brazil in the quarterfinals which will begin on Thursday.

MUSCAT, MAY 4 Oman's goalkeeper Younis al Owaisi delivered a crucial victory to his team as he saved El Salvador's Elmer Robles' spot-kick to earn a win from penalties after a 4-4 draw on Sunday in the second match of group D games at 2025 Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup in Seychelles. The victory meant, Oman team players revived their hopes to advance into the knockout stage after their loss against Italy by 7-4 in the opening match on Friday. Oman will meet Brazil on Tuesday in a tight clash which will decide the winner of one of the two group's ticket to the next phase. At Paradise Arena in Mahe Islands, Oman team players (the runners up of AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup Thailand 2025) began the match with more focus than the previous game as Musallam al Oraimi took the lead for Oman as he scored the opening goal in an early minute of the first period. Oman's goalie Younis al Owaisi made a super save of Jose Batres' penalty. After few attempts, Emerson Cerna's bicycle-kick gave the equaliser for El Salvador to made it 1-1 by the end of the first period. Oman and El Salvador players in action In the following period, the opponent pressed hard as they managed to score second goal through BATRES while Yahya al Murkhi equalised from the penalty spot to make it 2-2. Andersson Castro returned his team El Salvador for second lead as he netted the third goal to end the second period leading by 3-2. Frank Velasquez raised the scoring gap to two goals as he registered the fourth goal for El Salvador in the beginning of third period. An outstanding show by Oman team players including Salim al Oraimi and Sami al Bulushi who broke the rivals defending line to score the third and fourth goal and send the match into extra-time which ended goalless. Oman team managed to earn the winning points from penalties as this victory kept Oman hopes alive to seal a berth in the knockout stage heading into their concluding group stage fixture against defending champions Brazil on Tuesday.

MUSCAT: Oman beach soccer team suffered a 7-4 loss against Italy, runners-up of last edition of Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup, on Friday in the opening match of Group D at the underway 2025 Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup in Seychelles. Despite the defeat in the opener, the Oman team players will look to compensate in the forthcoming match against El Salvador on Sunday in order to revive their chances of advancing to the knockout stage for the first time. At the Paradise Arena in Mahe Islands, the opponents began the match strongly as they managed to score two goals in the first period through Tommaso Fazzini and Emmanuele Zurlo who provided their team a 2-0 lead. Oman's response was strong as Sami al Balushi and Yahya al Murkhi managed to bring the match to the original point by striking two goals and making it 2-2 before the end of the first period. In the following period of the match, the Azzurri team bounced back strongly as they visited the net of 2025 AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup runners-up through Luca Bertacca and Gianmarco Genovali to make a two-goal difference by 4-2. Oman head coach Talib Hilal's instructions to the players were to focus more on the attacking area. Oman's Musallam al Oraimi managed to reduce the gap to one goal as he netted the third goal for Oman by the end of the second period. In the concluding half of the match, Oman's mistakes at the back side were a lot as the opponents took advantage to score more goals. Italian Remedi and Josep JR gave a comfortable lead to the European side as they made the result 6-3. Oman's star forward Yahya al Murkhi worked hard and managed to score the fourth goal for Oman and the second goal in the match but Italy's Josep JR's goal in the dying minutes of match sealed the victory for his team as they ended the match with a 7-4 win. The triumph meant, Italy took the first three points in the group. Italy will meet world champions Brazil on Sunday while Oman will meet El Salvador on the same day. In the other matches, both Asian representatives Japan and Iran registered a strong start as Japan beat Guatemala in Group A by 6-2. Iran, on the other side, earned their first three points following their crucial victory over Mauritania by 5-4 in Group B.

MUSCAT: The champions of GCC Beach Games in beach soccer will report back to training sessions on Tuesday as part of their final warm up for Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup Seychelles 2025 which will take place from May 1 to 11. The scheduled domestic camp will be the final tune up for the globe event and ahead of the team's travel to Seychelles. Oman and UAE players in action Oman experienced head coach, Talib Hilal, announced the 14 man squad for the upcoming camp which will take place starting form Tuesday and will run until April 23. The squad included: Amjad al Hamadani, Younis al Owaisi, Said al Farsi, Abdullah al Souti, Nooh al Zadjali, Ahmed al Owaisi, Salim al Oraimi, Mundher al Oraimi, Sami al Balushi, Musallam al Oraimi, Al Yadhan al Hindasi, Yahya al Muraikhi, Khalid al Oraimi and Mashal al Oraimi. Later, Oman thumped Saudi Arabia by 7-2 to seal the victory and gold medal. Oman will commence their campaign 2025 Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup with a match against Italy on May 2 in the opener and the match will kick off at 15:00 (Oman time) while they will meet El Salvador in the following game on May 4 and the match will start at 15:00 (Oman time). Two days later, Oman team will take on World Champions Brazil. The match will kick off at 19:00 (Oman time). All the matches will take place at the Paradise Arena.
