Cannoneers take the win & head to NJCAA Women's Basketball National Championship
Jefferson Community College's Cannoneers are headed to the 2025 NJCAA Women's Basketball National Championship Game for the first time since 1999.
The Cannoneers won Friday's game against Minnesota West Community College 66 to 60. JCC's Delaney Wiley led with 18 points followed by LaKaiya Butcher with 17 points and Kori Nichols with 15 points.
JCC scored 11 points in the first quarter trailing behind by 5. They dubbed their points in quarter 2 earning 22 points for a total of 33. The teams were tied for points in the third quarter earning 17 each, JCC was trailing behind by one point overall as they entered the fourth quarter. JCC took 16 points in the fourth quarter bringing their final score to 66.
JCC will face Rochester Community and Technical College at 3 p.m.
