Horry, Florence County schools listed as finalists for Palmetto's Finest Award
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Three Horry County schools and one Florence County school are part of the top 12 finalists for the 2025 Palmetto's Finest Award.
For Horry County, St. James High School, the Academy for the Arts, Science, and Technology, and Socastee Elementary have been named finalists.
South Florence High School out of Florence School District 1 was also named a finalist for the award.
St. James High School won the award in 2016, making it the only school amongst this year's Grand Strand and Pee Dee finalists that has done so.
The Palmetto's Finest Award is one of the most coveted and respected awards for schools in South Carolina.
Every year, the South Carolina Association of School Administrators gives the award to a select group of schools that offer the best in innovative, effective educational programs.
The winners of the 2025 Palmetto's Finest Award will be announced on April 30.
