Good afternoon, Chicago. As the head of the Civilian Office of Police Accountability, Andrea Kersten often faced harsh criticism in the wake of high-profile police shootings and other misconduct allegations. Now, as she steps away from her role as leader of the agency, she says COPA is primed to effectively continue its oversight and investigatory work. She said that leaving COPA was 'on (her) mind and heart for quite some time,' and she knew 2025 would be her last year with the agency. Thousands raised during Polar Plunge
More than $15,000 was raised during the Polar Plunge last Saturday. The 2025 Polar Plunge, held at the Jimmy Floyd Center and benefiting Special Olympics Tennessee, had 91 participants who braved diving into nearly freezing water. Costumes were encouraged, with a $50 Amazon gift card prize for best costume.

Special Olympics Missouri reschedules Polar Plunge for March
Special Olympics Missouri has moved the 2025 Polar Plunge for St. Joseph for March due to expected cold temperatures. Originally the event was scheduled for Friday, Feb. 15. The SOMO 2025 Polar Plunge St. Joseph has been rescheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 22 at 402 S. Noyes Blvd. Registration and Donation information can be found at
