Auburn legend Charles Barkley talks at Regions Tradition
HOOVER, Ala. (WIAT) — Auburn basketball legend Charles Barkley made his yearly appearance at Greystone Golf and Country Club for the 2025 Regions Tradition. Barkley and other celebrities such as Nick Saban, Kalen DeBoer, Kirby Smart and Bo Jackson were in Hoover to play in the Drummond Company Celebrity Pro-Am on Wednesday. Barkley was an All-American at Auburn and spent three years there before entering the 1984 NBA Draft. He was selected with the fifth overall pick by the Philadelphia 76ers. He played 16 seasons in the NBA and had his number retired by Auburn, the 76ers and the Phoenix Suns. Alabama native Stewart Cink speaks ahead of Regions Tradition Barkley racked up several accolades throughout his career including MVP, 11-time NBA All-Star and five-time All-NBA First Team. Alabama native Stewart Cink speaks ahead of Regions Tradition
HOOVER, Ala. (WIAT) — Stewart Cink, an Alabama native who won the 2009 Open Championship, will compete in the 2025 Regions Tradition. Cink, who was born in Huntsville and raised in Florence, spoke with CBS 42 morning news anchor David Lamb on Wednesday morning. The 51-year-old golfer turned professional in 1995 and joined PGA Tour Champions in 2023. He won the Insperity Invitational at The Woodlands Country Club in Texas on May 4.
