Crews work to repair water main break in Northwest DC; roads closed
WASHINGTON () — Crews were working to repair a broken water main in the Northwest D.C. area Sunday morning, prompting road closures and traffic delays.
WSSC Water said the 12-inch water main was confirmed broken in the 5100 block of Massachusetts Ave. just before 7 a.m., near the Maryland—D.C. line.
Crews shut off water in the area at about 10 a.m. and are working to dig up the broken pipe to make repairs. Once workers dig up the pipe, repairs should take about four to six hours, WSSC Water said.
