Woodbury County Emergency Management urges caution as dry, windy conditions continue
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Woodbury County Emergency Management is calling on Siouxlanders to exercise extra caution with fire this week as dry, windy conditions hang around in the region. In a press release sent out Saturday, safety officials say the combination of mild temperatures, low humidity and breezy winds could cause any fire to spread rapidly. They urge Siouxlanders not to start any outdoor fires, and not to drop lit cigarettes on the ground. They also encourage practicing caution while using outdoor or farm equipment, like mowers or tractors. A single spark could set off a much larger blaze.
