Trumbull County Players of the Year announced
HOWLAND, Ohio (WKBN) – Warren JFK senior Nick Ryan and Mineral Ridge senior Ava Hulett were named the 2025 Trumbull County Players of the Year on Monday night.
The annual Trumbull County Player of the Year banquet was held at Leo's Ristorante in Howland.
Senior boys and girls nominees from schools throughout Trumbull County gathered to celebrate their achievements from this past season.
JFK's Ryan averaged a double-double, 26.5 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 2.7 steals per game last season. Throughout his high school career, he played in 92 games and averaged 19.7 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game.
Ryan led the Eagles to the Regional Championship game in the Division VII state tournament.
The Eagles star also became the school's all-time leading scorer in early March in the Division VII District Title win.
In 2024, Ryan earned a spot on WKBN's Starting 5, as one of the top basketball players in the Valley.
Ridge's Hulett also averaged a double-double, 18.2 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 3.5 steals per game this past season.
Over her varsity career, Hulett has played 70 games and averaged 16.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 3.1 steals per game.
She has been a four-year starter and captain for the Rams and led Mineral Ridge to the Division VI District Semifinal last season.
