KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Bront Palarae has made history by winning the Best Supporting Actor award for the horror film The Cursed Land at the 21st Baan Nang Klang Lakorn Awards in Thailand. The 47-year-old actor, whose real name is Nasrul Suhaimin Saifuddin, shared the news on his Instagram account, dedicating the achievement to the film's production team, and expressing his gratitude. "Acting in a Thai film once felt like a distant dream. This recognition is truly surreal," Bront wrote. "I want to express my sincere gratitude to The Cursed Land team. Your hard work made this possible." He extended special thanks to director Panu Aree, Kong Rithdee, creative producer Nonzee Nimibutr, cinematographer Chankit, and first assistant director Suraphi for their "patience and unwavering support." Bront Palarae won against a field of five other nominees: Benjamin Varney and Bhumipat Thavornsiri (both for In Youth We Trust), Wanarat Ratsameerat (Taklee Genesis), and Sanya Kunakorn and Pongsatorn Jongwilas (both for How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies). The Cursed Land received a total of four nominations at the awards, including Visual, Actor, and Supporting Actress.
