Ajith Kumar credits wife Shalini for receiving the Padma Bhushan award: 'She made so many sacrifices'
Kollywood star Ajith Kumar has shared his thoughts on being conferred with the prestigious Padma Bhushan award yesterday (April 28) at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. His wife – former actress Shalini Ajith Kumar – also shared some proud pictures from the event on her social media handles. Ajith's on receiving Padma Bhushan In a recent interview with India Today, Ajith opened up about the honour: "Honestly, it still hasn't sunk in. I'm still a plain middle-class person at heart, and it feels so surreal to be here and experiencing all these emotions. I'm happy and overwhelmed." He added that it affirms he's on the right path, motivating him to stay committed to his work and values as he moves forward. Ajith dedicated his victory to his wife, Shalini.
