US Economy Revised Down to 0.2% Contraction in Q1

Taarek Refaat The United States raised its estimates for the economy's performance in the first quarter of this year in the second reading, but it remains contracting. According to official data released, Thursday, the US gross domestic product (GDP) declined by about 0.2% in the first quarter of 2025, higher than the initial reading, which indicated a contraction of 0.3%. Meanwhile, consumer spending slowed during the period but remained in positive territory, with personal consumption expenditures (PCE) rising by 1.2%, the slowest quarterly growth rate since the second quarter of 2023, compared to a 4% increase in the previous quarter. Conversely, private domestic investment jumped by about 24.4%, compared to a 5.6% decline in the fourth quarter of 2024. Government consumption expenditures and total investment declined by about 0.7%, after a 3.1% increase in the fourth quarter of last year. The data indicated that the personal consumption expenditures price index grew by 3.6%, the same as the first reading, while the index excluding food and energy grew by 3.5%, about 0.1% higher than the first reading. read more CBE: Deposits in Local Currency Hit EGP 5.25 Trillion Morocco Plans to Spend $1 Billion to Mitigate Drought Effect Gov't Approves Final Version of State Ownership Policy Document Egypt's Economy Expected to Grow 5% by the end of 2022/23- Minister Qatar Agrees to Supply Germany with LNG for 15 Years Business Oil Prices Descend amid Anticipation of Additional US Strategic Petroleum Reserves Business Suez Canal Records $704 Million, Historically Highest Monthly Revenue Business Egypt's Stock Exchange Earns EGP 4.9 Billion on Tuesday Business Wheat delivery season commences on April 15 News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks

Powell Defends Monetary Policy during Trump Meeting

Taarek Refaat Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell announced Thursday that he met with President Donald Trump at his request, during which he defended the decisions taken without political considerations. A statement from Powell said that Trump summoned him to the White House on Thursday, and they discussed economic developments, including growth, employment, and inflation. Powell explained that he gave the president a detailed explanation of his "forecast for monetary policy, solely to emphasize that its course depends solely on incoming economic data and their implications" for the future. He noted that it was emphasized that the Fed chairman and his staff "will set monetary policy, as required by law," with the goal of eliminating unemployment and achieving price stability, "and they will do so based solely on careful, objective, and apolitical analysis." This came after a senior Federal Reserve official revealed Thursday that the agency could cut interest rates if the president's tariffs were lifted. For months, Trump has criticized the Federal Reserve, particularly Powell, for keeping interest rates at levels he considers too high. Earlier, Trump imposed 10% tariffs on most countries and imposed higher tariffs on dozens of trading partners, but temporarily suspended them a few days later to allow for trade talks. The U.S. Court of International Trade ruled Wednesday that Trump had exceeded his authority by imposing these sweeping tariffs and blocked their implementation, a decision the White House vowed to appeal. read more CBE: Deposits in Local Currency Hit EGP 5.25 Trillion Morocco Plans to Spend $1 Billion to Mitigate Drought Effect Gov't Approves Final Version of State Ownership Policy Document Egypt's Economy Expected to Grow 5% by the end of 2022/23- Minister Qatar Agrees to Supply Germany with LNG for 15 Years Business Oil Prices Descend amid Anticipation of Additional US Strategic Petroleum Reserves Business Suez Canal Records $704 Million, Historically Highest Monthly Revenue Business Egypt's Stock Exchange Earns EGP 4.9 Billion on Tuesday Business Wheat delivery season commences on April 15 News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks

Earth's Core May Be Leaking Gold Toward the Surface, Study Says

Rana Atef On Tuesday, a new study sparked controversy as it claimed the presence of a vast hidden reservoir of gold buried deep within Earth's core may be slowly making its way to the surface. For decades, scientists have known that Earth's metallic core also holds significant amounts of precious elements like gold and platinum. But the latest findings suggest that this treasure trove may not be as permanently locked away as once thought. Geophysicists examining high-pressure reactions between core and mantle materials have found that certain chemical exchanges could allow gold and other heavy elements to 'leak' from the core into the mantle to Earth's crust. The findings challenge long-standing assumptions that such elements were entirely trapped during Earth's early formation. The key lies in the movement of liquid metals and their interactions with silicate rocks at extreme temperatures and pressures. As Earth continues to cool and shift, small amounts of these metals may be drawn upward in processes that mirror volcanic activity. "This changes how we think about the Earth's deep interior and the cycling of elements," said one of the lead researchers. "There may be a dynamic exchange occurring that slowly delivers these precious metals toward the surface." While this doesn't mean we'll be mining gold directly from the core anytime soon, the research helps explain why gold and other rare elements are found in surprisingly rich deposits in the crust—far more than models of early Earth formation can account for. The implications extend beyond geology. Understanding these elemental movements could refine how we search for natural resources, and even how we think about planetary formation on other worlds. Further studies are planned to confirm how widespread this leakage process is and how much gold might still be on the move beneath our feet. read more 15 Ludicrous Cosplay Costumes That Will Blow You Away Watch... Libya Announces Closure of Pipeline in Zawiya due to Oil Leak

Taarek Refaat Libya's National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced on Saturday the closure of a pipeline south of the city of Zawiya due to an oil leak. Zawiya, located approximately 40 kilometers west of the capital, Tripoli, is home to Libya's largest operating oil refinery, with a production capacity of 120,000 barrels per day. This refinery is connected to the Sharara oil field, the country's largest, which produces approximately 300,000 barrels per day. The NOC published a photo showing the leaking oil flowing into the desert, noting that the flow of oil from the Hamada fields through the damaged pipeline was immediately halted. The NOC added in a statement: "In parallel with the ongoing maintenance work, a team of specialists is conducting an investigation to determine the causes of the leak. Necessary arrangements and coordination are also underway to recover the leaked oil and address any environmental pollution resulting from the incident." read more CBE: Deposits in Local Currency Hit EGP 5.25 Trillion Morocco Plans to Spend $1 Billion to Mitigate Drought Effect Gov't Approves Final Version of State Ownership Policy Document Egypt's Economy Expected to Grow 5% by the end of 2022/23- Minister Qatar Agrees to Supply Germany with LNG for 15 Years Business Oil Prices Descend amid Anticipation of Additional US Strategic Petroleum Reserves Business Suez Canal Records $704 Million, Historically Highest Monthly Revenue Business Egypt's Stock Exchange Earns EGP 4.9 Billion on Tuesday Business Wheat delivery season commences on April 15 News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies

Global Outage Hits Elon Musk's X Platform

Israa Farhan The social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter and owned by Elon Musk, experienced a major worldwide outage on Saturday, affecting tens of thousands of users across multiple countries. Reports of the outage surged rapidly, according to Downdetector, a service that monitors online platform disruptions. In the United States alone, over 25,000 users reported being unable to access the platform properly. Many users faced difficulties loading new posts and navigating the app due to persistent error messages. This marks the second significant technical failure for X in 2025. A previous outage in March caused a temporary shutdown of user interactions and messaging features, raising ongoing concerns about the platform's technical stability. The outage occurred at a crucial time for the company. Since Elon Musk acquired the platform in October 2022 for $44 billion, X has undergone massive changes, including a reduction of nearly 80 percent of its workforce. The sharp downsizing has raised questions about the platform's ability to maintain reliable service levels. read more UAE's Lunar Mission Delayed to Tomorrow Twitter Lifts Trump's Account Ban Scientists Find Evidence Of 10،000 Black Holes Surrounding The Center Of The Milky Way Galaxy Greenhouse In Antarctica Able To Grow Vegetables Without Soil Or Sunlight Moving Over China: U.S. Is Again Home to World's Speediest Supercomputer Technology The 10 most expensive cars in the world Technology Top 10 fastest cars in the world Technology Lasers Could Make Computers 1 Million Times Faster Technology Smart technology taking control of our lives News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies
