Shotgun, rifle seized after Regina police find man, woman passed out in vehicle

A 30-year-old woman and 28-year-old man are facing weapons charges after Regina police were called to investigate a possible impaired driving incident early Sunday morning.
According to a Regina police news release, officers found two individuals unconscious inside a vehicle on the 1100 block of Broadway Avenue around 2:15 a.m.
When officers arrived on the scene the driver regained consciousness and exited the vehicle, police then found a loaded sawed-off shotgun, rifle, ammunition, knife, bear spray and drug paraphernalia, the release said.
The 30-year-old woman has since been charged with possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, carrying a concealed or prohibited device or ammunition and careless storage of a firearm.
The 28-year-old man was charged with failure or refusal to comply with a demand, operation of a conveyance while prohibited and possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order.
Both accused made their first court appearances Monday morning, Regina police said.
