Mackinaw Winery hosts wine and beer tasting festival including ‘Beanie Babies' of beer
MACKINAW, Ill. (WMBD) — People in Mackinaw got to hear live music while trying alcoholic drinks from around the world.
The Mackinaw Valley Vineyard & Winery hosted their 18th annual International Music, Wine, and Craft Beer Festival on Saturday and Sunday. The festival draws in a big crowd each year to get a taste of the globe.
'Festivals like this are fun because you can get tickets and sample things and so you kind of know more,' said Diane Hahn, general manager and co-owner. 'You're educated more as a consumer about what you like, what you don't like, and maybe why.'

More than 50 wines and 50 craft beers were available for people to try. The beers were primarily domestically brewed, but the wines were more international.
With this, a very popular beer right now, Hahn said, is Yuengling, the country's oldest brewery, which just this year made its product available in the state. Hahn called it the 'Beanie Babies of Beer.'
Saturday's music included Will Spicher, Turas Irish and Stereotypical, with Sunday capping off with Tad Johson and The Flying Dorito Brothers.
