Mobile health unit highlights progress in community service
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — St. Joseph's Neighborhood Center is raising a glass for its 31st Annual Tasting and Auction that was held Wednesday night.
It's the nonprofit's only major fundraiser of the year and dollars raised directly support health and mental health services for those without affordable access.
The event welcomed over 400 supporters who enjoyed food drinks from local vendors and both live and silent auctions. Guests also got to tour the new mobile unit designed to bring care directly to those who need it.
Organizers talked to News 8 about the funding that comes from events like these.
'We would not be able to do what we do without the generous donations of our donors, our sponsors,' Executive Director Jennifer Sahrle said. 'The sponsors of this event are dream makers they help us do what we need to do in the community and to serve folks that no on else does.'
The center has served the Rochester community since 1993.
