Phillies MVP Reminds Of Eagles Leader With Head-Turning New Hairstyle
Of all the major stars in the city of Philadelphia, few actually chose to come here through free agency. Eagles star Saquon Barkley is a modern exception, but when it comes to a trend-setting star player to opt to sign in the City of Brotherly Love and change life forever, Phillies first baseman Bryce Harper is at the top of the list. Advertisement The former NL MVP and playoff hero for Philadelphia's baseball team has been a consummate professional and leader in the city. Harper and his family have truly become one with the town. And while few Phillies' players will ever carry the kind of devotion that Eagles players do, Harper is as close to that as anyone in sports. So when he shared a new haircut honoring the Eagles and their latest Super Bowl run, most fans in the city have gotten excited. Despite a strong 24-17 start, Harper recently shaved his head down to the nubs, a decision that mirrored Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni following the organization's bye week in Week 5 of the 2024 regular season. Advertisement Fans of both teams saw Sirianni's shaved head as a rallying cry of sorts. It certainly worked. Philadelphia won 10 straight games en route to the most dominant season in town history. Their win in Super Bowl LIX was one of the most lopsided in league history. Harper, slashing a .232/.351/.419 hitting run this season, hasn't been the kind of player many Phillies fans have expected. With his shaved head, though, Harper is looking to have the same kind of turnaround that Sirianni saw with his own team. #SHOWBIZ: HK actor Niklas Lam flies to China for dentist, so much cheaper
HONG KONG: Hong Kong actor Niklas Lam, 30, recently revealed on Instagram that he travels all the way to Shenzhen in China to see the dentist as it is "cheaper than in Hong Kong". Lam said: "Extracting just one tooth in Hong Kong would have cost me between HK$700 (RM380) and HK$2,500 (RM1,360), but in Shenzhen, I pay 630 yuan (RM365) to have two removed. "I'm lucky I didn't have to get my wisdom tooth removed because that would've cost even more in Hong Kong." Lam said that extracting a wisdom tooth in Hong Kong costs around HK$5,000 (RM2,720), and if surgery is required, the price could reach up to HK$8,000 (RM4,351). A wisdom tooth extraction in Shenzhen only costs 700 yuan (RM405). "The price difference is ridiculous. Will an actor in Hong Kong be very rich? The truth is they won't. If they're solely relying on their job as an artiste for income, they won't have enough to feed themselves," said Lam. Many netizens agreed with the actor, and said that they were not surprised at the high cost of living in Hong Kong. "No wonder my cousin goes to Shenzhen every week for groceries," said one netizen.
