MP scoops 19 medals in water sports championships

Bhopal: Athletes from MP delivered outstanding results at the national junior, sub junior canoe sprint, dragon boat, and para canoe competitions held at Lower Lake on Friday. MP accumulated 19 medals, comprising 13 gold, five silver, and one bronze in canoe sprint, whilst also securing gold in two dragon boat 2 km finals. The competitions, organised jointly by Madhya Pradesh Kayaking and Canoeing Association and Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association, encompasses the 35th National Canoe Sprint Junior Women Men and Sub Junior Competition, 13th National Dragon, and 18th National Para Canoe Competition . The Water Sports Championships witnessed several thrilling performances across multiple categories. The event's success highlighted MP's dominance in water sports disciplines. The dragon boat competitions were particularly exciting with MP teams showcasing exceptional coordination and strength. The para-canoe events demonstrated remarkable athletic abilities, with participants overcoming challenges to deliver impressive performances. The junior women's category saw intense competition in both sprint and long-distance events. The technical precision displayed in K-1 and C-1 races demonstrated the athletes' high skill levels. Team events showcased excellent synchronisation, particularly in the K-4 and C-4 races. In the junior men's category, Sushil Kumar won gold in 1000m C-1, with Aditya Singh and Manjeet Metai claiming K-2 gold. The K-4 team of Santosh, Abhishek Arya, Rohan Yadav, and Sachin secured gold, whilst Prince and Sudhir triumphed in C-2. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Santosh earned silver in K-1, and the C-2 team of Harsh Sharma, Krishna Jat, Praneet Meena, and Nitesh obtained silver. MP's women athletes achieved remarkable success. Dali Vishnoi secured K-1 gold and partnered with Chandrakala Kushwaha to win K-2 gold. The K-4 team featuring Pranshi Rajak, Mahi Rawat, Vanshika, and Rukmani Dangi earned silver. Deepka Dhimar won C-1 gold, whilst Masuma Yadav and Divyangi Jat secured C-2 silver. The C-4 team comprising Deepika Dhimar, Janaki Lawaria, Masuma Yadav, and Divyangi Jat claimed gold. In the 500m junior men's events, Manjeet secured gold, Aditya and Santosh won K-2 gold, whilst Sachin, Manjeet, and Rohan Yadav claimed K-4 gold. Prince and Sudhir won C-2 gold, and the team of Harsh Sharma, Krishna Jat, Praneet Meena, and Nitesh obtained C-2 silver. In the women's 500m category, Dali Vishnoi won K-1 gold, teamed with Chandrakala for K-2 gold, whilst Pranshi Rajak, Mahi Rawat, Vanshika, and Rukmani secured K-4 gold. Deepika Dhimar earned C-1 bronze, Janaki and Divyanshi obtained C-2 silver, and the team of Deepak, Janaki, Masoom, and Divyanshi won C-4 gold.
