Upon arriving at the scene, police found a pregnant female victim who had sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Daniel Lowe of the Hoover Police Department told that the suspect has been identified as a 36-year-old male. He also said that while an investigation into the incident is still ongoing, 'preliminary accounts indicate reckless behavior with a firearm was involved on the part of the suspect.' Lowe told that investigators are currently working with the Shelby County District Attorney's Office and expect formal charges to be filed on Monday, June 16. PEOPLE reached out to Hoover Police on Sunday, June 15, for comment but did not receive an immediate response.
