Mineola man sentenced to 25 years in prison for selling narcotics

WOOD COUNTY, Texas (KETK)- A Mineola man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for selling illegal narcotics. On April 10, Judd Paul Pippins pleaded guilty to two charges of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, according to court records. Following his plea, Pippins was sentenced by the 402nd Judicial District Court Judge Brad McCampbell to 25 years in prison and was also ordered to pay a $5,000 fine. Toll 49 in Smith County reopens after major damages from 18-wheeler crash Pippins was originally arrested on June 19, 2024, after a Mineola police sergeant pulled him over due to an active warrant. During a search of Pippin's vehicle, six grams of methamphetamine, 90 Hydrocodone pills and over an ounce of marijuana were discovered, according to officials. Additionally, officials stated 15 small clear baggies and 10 unused syringes were also found inside his car. Wood County Criminal District Attorney Angela Albers says Wood County is safer with Pippins behind bars. 'The defendant has a significant history involving drug dealing. Yet again he was trying to circulate drugs in Wood County, putting our community at risk,' Albers said. 'I am pleased that we were able to resolve this case and get another drug dealer off of Wood County's streets. Wood County is a much safer place with the defendant behind bars.'
