Two individuals have been charged following an alleged assault in Sault Ste. Marie last week.
On May 30 about 8:40 p.m., police responded to a 911 report assault in the 200 block of Selby Road.
Officers determined that a 33-year-old man allegedly punched one victim in the head, while a 43-year-old woman allegedly struck one victim in the head and scratched them, then hit another victim in the head with a cellphone.
'The victims sustained minor physical injuries,' the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service said in a news release.
Authorities said that neither accused was known to the victims.
Both were arrested within the hour. The male faces one count of assault, while the woman is charged with both assault and assault with a weapon.
They were released on undertakings and are scheduled to appear in court on July 28.
