Move over Met Gala! Julie Bishop outshines A-listers in NYC as she stuns in a silver gown while holding hands with boyfriend Stephen Gray

Julie Bishop looked every bit the Minister for Fashion as she attended The King's Trust 4th Annual Global Gala in New York City. The fashionista, 68, ensured all eyes were on her as she walked the red carpet in a stunning confetti gown with boyfriend Stephen Gray. The glittering design by Meraki Official featured a cap sleeve and round neckline, before tumbling into an embellished full skirt. Ms Bishop accessorised the $1,700 fit with drop earrings and a dazzling smile as she posed alongside her man, who looked dashing in a classic tuxedo. Mr Gray opted to add an air of mystery to his look, donning a pair of sunglasses as he posed on the red carpet and gripped his ladylove's hand. The well dressed couple positively glowed as they put on a loved-up display, and happily chatted as they made their way into the star-studded event. Ms Bishop is no stranger to turning heads on the red carpet. She recently stunned in a black gown with lace cutouts at the National Designer Awards x David Jones at the Melbourne Fashion Festival. The form-fitting maxi frock also featured crochet accents around the hem as well as a bold floral applique. She added a pair of black, pointed heels to the ensemble and wore a smattering of accessories including pearl drop earrings. For makeup, Julie chose a peachy toned palette with a soft pink lipstick and lots of eye liner. Little is known about Mr Gray, whose Instagram account is private with only 60 followers. They appear to have been an item for more than a year after she 'soft-launched' him on her social media accounts in July 2023. Last year, they travelled to South Australia for a 'fabulous Outback adventure'. Ms Bishop is no stranger to turning heads on the red carpet. She recently stunned in a black gown with lace cutouts at the National Designer Awards x David Jones at the Melbourne Fashion Festival In a video shared to her Instagram page, Bishop put together a montage of images and video clips from their holiday and tagged her partner. The news of her new romance came two years after David Panton, 62, allegedly dumped Ms Bishop over dinner in Sydney in July 2022, putting an end to their eight-year relationship. During their partnership, Bishop took Panton to the United Nations to meet world leaders, Buckingham Palace to hobnob with British royalty and to the White House where he met Donald Trump. The pair first stepped out publicly in 2014. They were pictured at countless celebrity events over the years including the 2018 wedding of Karl Stefanovic and Jasmine Yarbrough. Bishop was understood to have been 'blindsided' by the sudden breakdown of her relationship, sources close to the former politician said. It comes after Julie was spotted rubbing shoulders with supermodel Tyra Banks. The legendary catwalk model and TV star has been living in Sydney's eastern suburbs for some time. The pair appeared to be very chummy when they met at restaurant Nobu recently. Charlotte Tilbury Wonders If US Is Equally 'Obsessed' With King Charles

English makeup entrepreneur Charlotte Tilbury wondered if America is "obsessed" with King Charles III, whom she described as a "visionary of our time" in a red carpet interview with Newsweek. Tilbury sponsored The King's Trust Global Gala at Casa Cipriani in New York City on May 1, as did Newsweek. And she heaped praise on the king for the work his flagship charity does to help disadvantaged young people enter the workforce. Charlotte Tilbury attends The King's Trust 4th Annual Global Gala in New York City on May how she felt the king was viewed in America, she told Newsweek: "I think, is everyone just obsessed with him? We're all just obsessed with him, he's amazing. "He really is a visionary of our time, he really is. If you think about what he understood about global warming, what he understood about farming ... just this trust alone, what he's done to really help not just the U.K. economy but economies all around the world. And empowered people and changed people's lives. Some of the stories here tonight are incredible." The gala raised $2.5 million for the trust through a celebrity auction and at the end of the night, disco icon Nile Rodgers packed the dance floor, playing hits from his heyday. Supporters at the star-studded event included Lionel Richie, F.K.A. Twigs, Georgina Chapman, Heidi Klum and Edward Enninful, and they heard moving stories about the trust's work helping turn lives around. "He's helped 94,000 business," Tilbury said, "he's added £10bn to the economy in the U.K. It's [the trust] in 25 countries, it's amazing and it's just a privilege and honor to be here tonight. "He's such a visionary, the king, he really is on so many levels. His Majesty is just amazing." Pioneering U.K. fashion designer Ozwald Boateng got a grant as a teenager from the organization, which was then known as the Prince's Trust, because Charles was not yet king. Boateng is now preparing to play a major role in this year's Met Gala in a few days' time, on May 5, both as a guest and dressing other stars. "I was a benefactor ... when it was The Prince's Trust," he told Newsweek. "I think I was about 17 when I applied for the grant and I got it. It had obviously a big impact. "As a young man deciding that design was going to be a place of my future, to get that support at an early age was of course huge. "At the time it allowed me to buy machinery, like a sewing machine ... my God, it's such a long time ago, we're talking 40-plus years ago." Musician Nile Rodgers on Trump's America: 'So Strange Right Now'

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Musician Nile Rodgers questioned President Donald Trump's decision to become chairman of The Kennedy Center, telling Newsweek: "America is so strange right now." Rodgers was the star performer at the King's Trust Global Gala in New York on Thursday night, getting big name celebrities on their feet and dancing with his disco hits including Le Freak. And on the red carpet, he told Newsweek his candid thoughts on where America stands just more than 100 days into Trump's second term as president. He questioned the president's decision to fire multiple board members of The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., before taking on the role of chairman. "How does a person who has nothing to do with art find themselves in charge of, artistically, what we're going to say. That would be like me trying to be an artist who's designing things that have absolutely nothing to do with my background. I don't feel like I'm qualified. That would be like me running for public office." He continued: "I do what I do because it's who I am as a human being. And the president of the United States being in charge of the arts? Especially he ever been known for that? Just think about that question. You know, America is so strange right now. It's hard for me to tell if there's love for anyone which is bizarre because I'm usually the most optimistic person in the world." Musician Nile Rodgers attends The King's Trust 4th Annual Global Gala, in New York City on May 1. Musician Nile Rodgers attends The King's Trust 4th Annual Global Gala, in New York City on May 1."It's not America as a whole because I just came back from North Carolina and I had the nicest time. People were so kind, they were so loving, and it didn't seem like politics were on their mind. It just felt like they were the way that people used to be and it's just heartbreaking to me because I think people should be kind," Rodgers said. The King's Trust is King Charles III's most successful charity, founded in the 1970s to help disadvantaged young people into work. Rodgers was a disco icon with band Chic and also produced major hits by Madonna including Like a Virgin and Material Girl. He gave a glowing account of his experiences of the king: "I've done so much and he's done so much. He's just a charitable, wonderful human being. Every time I've met him, every time I've worked with him, it's just been pure joy. Regardless of what you believe in, we should just have dignity that we should be cool and that's what the king is. Every time I'm with him he is the coolest and he's always engaged." He continued: "Every time I see people around him, he's interested in what they have to say even though his troop is leading him through the crowd he still stops and talks to people. You have to be a real person to be that way. I don't think that that's made up, I don't think he's trying to have a great public image I think he's just that person."
