Man under police guard, two dead following fatal car crash in Brooloo, Queensland
A homicide probe has been launched after a fatal crash in a rural area of Queensland. Police say a 61-year-old man was driving a Suzuki sedan that crashed into a tree at Callemonda Rd and Mary Valley Rd in Brooloo - a small town in the Gympie region - shortly before 2pm on Monday. A man travelling in the front passenger seat and a woman in the back seat of the vehicle both died at the scene. The driver was flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with serious injuries. After further investigation by detectives, the 61-year-old man was arrested. He remains in hospital under guard, and police say he is assisting detectives with their ongoing investigation. No charges have been laid.

Man, 61, arrested for allegedly breaking car windows, breaking into boat at Barrie business
A 61-year-old man faces charges stemming from an incident on Anne Street in Barrie Thursday afternoon. Police say officers received a call from an Anne Street business about a man breaking into a boat and breaking the windows of two vehicles parked on the property. Officers responded and arrested the accused. They said stolen property was recovered and the man was taken to police headquarters for further investigation. He was later released from custody, but will have to attend court next month on charges of theft, mischief, and breach of probation.
