NE Delhi to get a modern auditorium: CM
New Delhi: Chief minister Rekha Gupta on Monday announced the construction of a state-of-the-art auditorium in northeast Delhi. Gupta spoke at the 61st Annual Day and Sashtipoorthi (completion of 60 years) celebrations of Delhi University's (DU) Shyam Lal College, where she felicitated top-performing students and planted a sapling to mark the occasion.
Praising the college's six-decade-long journey, she said, "Shyam Lal College, which once faced numerous challenges, has now evolved into a distinguished institution."
Addressing the infrastructural needs of northeast Delhi, Gupta announced the construction of a modern auditorium in the region. Drawing comparisons to Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi, she said the proposed facility would match their scale and quality and serve both academic institutions and the wider community. She called upon students to contribute to nation-building and encouraged them to take a pledge 'Ek Kaam Desh Ke Naam'.
