Jimmie Johnson's special paint scheme for 700th Cup start revealed
Jimmie Johnson's special paint scheme for 700th Cup start revealed Jimmie Johnson will only make two starts in the NASCAR Cup Series during the 2025 season, and the last one will be extremely special. In two weeks, Johnson will compete in the 2025 Coca-Cola 600, which also represents his 700th Cup Series start. The No. 84 car's paint scheme has been revealed ahead of the special milestone. On Wednesday, Legacy Motor Club revealed the new look honoring Johnson's 700th Cup Series start. Carvana will sponsor Johnson and the No. 84 team and have a blue base. The No. 84 will be black with a yellow outline and number on the roof. Overall, it is a sharp paint scheme for Legacy Motor Club. Johnson, the new majority owner of Legacy Motor Club, doesn't have many races left in his NASCAR career, and the Coca-Cola 600 could be one of his last. The seven-time NASCAR champion is ready for his 700th Cup Series start, and the No. 84 car looks sharp to commemorate the occasion. Kevin Harvick believes Jimmie Johnson should stop racing in NASCAR
Kevin Harvick believes Jimmie Johnson should stop racing in NASCAR Jimmie Johnson's part-time NASCAR Cup Series schedule will continue in 2025 as he attempts to make the Daytona 500 and Coca-Cola 600. If everything goes according to plan, Johnson will make his 700th Cup Series start at the Coca-Cola 600; however, not everyone agrees that one of NASCAR's seven-time Cup Series champions should still be racing. Kevin Harvick discussed Johnson's part-time NASCAR racing on his podcast, Kevin Harvick's Happy Hour. Harvick believes Johnson should hang up the steering wheel. This has nothing to do with his performance in the No. 84 car; it is strictly about his role as majority owner at Legacy Motor Club. 'I think that the sooner [Jimmie Johnson] can get out of being in that car, the better off he is," Harvick said. 'I understand when we had the Xfinity teams of having to drive the car to lure the sponsor. But you know, as far as the marketing side of things, at some point, it becomes about performance. I think Danica Patrick was probably the best example of that. At some point, your marketing platform runs out, and I think that performance trumps everything that you can do after consecutive years of not performing like you need to, and I think that's what they're striving for, right? 'They have to get the performance where they need to, or sponsorship becomes less and less and harder to sell, and then it becomes harder to sell employees and harder to sell drivers, and everything that you need to run well is all about the people, and if you don't have the money to pay the people, then it becomes harder and harder to get the performance where it needs to be.' Recently, Johnson became the majority owner of Legacy Motor Club, and improving the NASCAR organization should be his top priority. If he believes that racing in NASCAR helps the organization, he will continue to prioritize it. If not, like Harvick said, these could be Johnson's last two starts in NASCAR.
