Country is making rapid strides under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, says Union Minister of State for Finance
Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary on Friday observed that India is making rapid strides towards development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Union Minister was addressing the 75th Indian Revenue Service (IRS) Passing Out Parade organised at the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN) at Palasamudram of Sri Sathya Sai district.
Mr. Chaudhary inspected the parade and took the guard of honour from the trainee officers. He gave away medals and appreciation letters to top performers and congratulated the NACIN for grooming competent officers for the country.
The Minister highlighted the key initiatives like Startup India, Stand-Up India and the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana by the Narendra Modi government, and said that the schemes played an instrumental role in generating employment and financial support to youth and students, particularly from the talent pool of the marginalised communities and economically backward sections.
'Prime Minister Modi's goal is to achieve a developed India by 2047, and we need more and more skilled officers who could envision a great India,' Mr. Chaudhary said.
The passing out officers included 42 trainees of which 17 were women and five officials from the Royal Government of Bhutan. The Minister had a word of appreciation for the trainee officers from Bhutan, terming it a proof of strong bilateral ties between the two countries.
Acknowledging the contributions of NACIN Chairman Sanjay Kumar Agarwal and Director General Subrahmanyam in developing the institution on global standards, the Minister hoped that it would continue to produce more and more efficient officers who could spin wonders for India's revenue services.
