Renovated Rajaraja Chola museum opened

Rajaraja Chola manimandapam
and museum, which was renovated at Rs 3.6 crore, was reopened by higher education minister Govi Chezhian in Thanjavur on Wednesday.
The decision to renovate the museum was announced in Nov 2022. The work began a year later. The renovation work includes infrastructure repair, fountain repair, painting, perimeter wall, play area renovation, play equipment replacement, and other maintenance work. The manimandapam located on New Bus Stand Road was built in the 1990s as part of the 8th Tamil World Conference.
District collector B Priyanka Pankajam, Thiruvaiyaru MLA Durai Chandrasekaran, Thanjavur MLA T K G Neelmegam, mayor Sun Ramanathan, municipal commissioner K Kannan and others were present.
