ISSF Junior World Cup: Kanak Claims 10m Air Pistol Gold

Last Updated: The 17-year-old Indian scored 239.0 in the 24-shot eight-women final to upstage Anna Dulce of Moldova by 1.7 points. Budding Haryana shooter Kanak opened India's gold-medal account at the ISSF Junior World Cup in Germany, clinching the yellow metal in women's 10m air pistol on Wednesday. The 17-year-old, a junior World Championship silver medallist in Lima last year, scored 239.0 in the 24-shot eight-women final to upstage Anna Dulce of Moldova, a two-time Olympian and reigning European champion by 1.7 points. Chinese Taipei's Chen Yen-Ching won the bronze medal in the event taking place in Suhl. Earlier, two Indian shooters qualified for the final with Prachi securing a spot behind Kanak in fifth place as they shot scores of 571 and 572 respectively. Kanak then showed her experience at this level, bringing out the big 10s when it mattered most towards the closing stages of the final to win with ease. 'I was a little bit nervous in the beginning but I am happy that I was able to close out well," she said after the match. In fact, it was Prachi who remained in the top three from the start of the final and looked in contention for a medal. Prachi shot a poor 8.6 while Kanak took the lead with a soaring 10.5. As Prachi faded away, Kanak then shot three high 10s, a slim 10.1 and three high 9s (9.7, 9.8, 9.9) in her next nine shots to pull away from the field. She closed the contest with a 9.4, which will not please her coaches, but by then the gold was in her bag. On Tuesday, India's Adriyan Karmakar had won the silver medal in the 50m rifle prone event. How Aditya Pisal scripted dream finish to overcome sprinters' nightmare at Khelo India

Patna, May 15 (UNI) It was a dream for budding sprinter Aditya Pisal to win the gold medal in the Khelo India Youth Games, especially after facing a painful disqualification two months back. By bagging two yellow metal pieces Pisal was able to overcome the nightmares he faced since March 10. Pisal achieved the two top podium finishes on Tuesday in boys 100m (10.62 seconds) and as part of the Maharashtra boys 4X100 m relay team where he ran the third leg on the curve to help the quartet to gold in 4155 seconds. 'I trained with the goal of winning the Khleo India Youth Games 100 m gold. I had to recalibrate after being disqualified for an early start when I competed on this track a couple of months ago. I was in better form then and heartbroken,' 16-year-old Pisal told media persons while recalling the March 10 disqualification. 'When I lined up at the start of the 100m final on Tuesday, I had to overcome my fears about making another false start in the first event after the disqualification in the AFI National Youth Championships,' he said. 'March 10 was a black day for me,' Pisal said, replaying the unhappy sequence of events in his mind. "Though, I won the 200 m bronze a couple of days later, the early start in the 100m hurt for a long time. My coach and I were extremely disappointed with that disqualification, but I had to overcome that bitter, but learning, experience.' \\\\Son of a home maker mother and Public Works Department Head Clerk, Pisal trains with coach Shrinivas Gupta, a World Athletics Level 2 certified coach, at the Father Agnel Gymkhana in Vashi, Navi Mumbai. He chose athletics over football in which he represented Maharashtra in the national sub-junior championships, but said it was a natural decision. 'I always loved running fast. When a teacher saw me run on the Football pitch, he suggested that I try my hand with athletics. I liked it when I attempted sprinting and knew that this is what I wanted to do – run as fast as I can and faster than everyone else. I also how Usain Bolt and other sprinters were respected. I wanted to create my own identity as a sprinter,' he said. Pisal is aware that sprinting is less followed in India compared to other track events like 400m in which the relay teams have enjoyed the spotlight and the middle- and long-distance races. 'I want to change that. I want to compete for India at the world stage and I also want to run sub-10-second races, 9.9 and 9.8,' Pisal said, indicating that he would not shift to the longer races. Commerce Bancshares (NASDAQ:CBSH) Has Announced A Dividend Of $0.275

Commerce Bancshares, Inc.'s (NASDAQ:CBSH) investors are due to receive a payment of $0.275 per share on 24th of June. Including this payment, the dividend yield on the stock will be 1.7%, which is a modest boost for shareholders' returns. We check all companies for important risks. See what we found for Commerce Bancshares in our free report. Even a low dividend yield can be attractive if it is sustained for years on end. Commerce Bancshares has a long history of paying out dividends, with its current track record at a minimum of 10 years. Taking data from its last earnings report, calculating for the company's payout ratio shows 26%, which means that Commerce Bancshares would be able to pay its last dividend without pressure on the balance sheet. Looking forward, EPS is forecast to rise by 10.9% over the next 3 years. Analysts forecast the future payout ratio could be 28% over the same time horizon, which is a number we think the company can maintain. See our latest analysis for Commerce Bancshares The company has a sustained record of paying dividends with very little fluctuation. The annual payment during the last 10 years was $0.526 in 2015, and the most recent fiscal year payment was $1.10. This implies that the company grew its distributions at a yearly rate of about 7.7% over that duration. Companies like this can be very valuable over the long term, if the decent rate of growth can be maintained. Some investors will be chomping at the bit to buy some of the company's stock based on its dividend history. Commerce Bancshares has impressed us by growing EPS at 9.9% per year over the past five years. Growth in EPS bodes well for the dividend, as does the low payout ratio that the company is currently reporting. Overall, we like to see the dividend staying consistent, and we think Commerce Bancshares might even raise payments in the future. Distributions are quite easily covered by earnings, which are also being converted to cash flows. Taking this all into consideration, this looks like it could be a good dividend opportunity. Companies possessing a stable dividend policy will likely enjoy greater investor interest than those suffering from a more inconsistent approach. Still, investors need to consider a host of other factors, apart from dividend payments, when analysing a company. Companies that are growing earnings tend to be the best dividend stocks over the long term.
