Extreme Porsche 911 Turbo S Aero Kit Costs Almost $70,000

911 Turbo Aero Package Costs As Much As A New Cayman S There's a Porsche 911 for every occasion, and if you want to get from point A to point B as quickly as possible, the Turbo S is the one for the job. It's not the most hardcore 911 track toy, but every inch of the 911 Turbo S has been optimized for unrivaled speed. Attempting to improve on this extreme 911 takes considerable expertise, but Gunther Werks – a renowned Porsche builder – has shown it can be done with a new 992.1 Turbo S Aero Package. This pack coincides with the launch of the tuner's new sub-brand, GW9, and takes the 911 Turbo S to new heights – but it also makes the already expensive 911 even less attainable. Source: Gunther Werks Eight-Piece Aero Package Is Both Tasteful And Functional Every component in the pack is crafted from aerospace-grade, pre-impregnanted carbon fiber that has been made using autoclave technology. This process increases stiffness by up to 30% when compared to conventional carbon fiber; either way, let's appreciate the properties of carbon fiber while we still can. The eight components available are: Rear wing Rear diffuser Side skirts Side intake trim Front intake trim Front spoiler with winglets Front spoiler winglets Front spoiler with side fins This is not some mad Mansory mission where visual impact trumps aerodynamics. Rather, GW9 has ensured that every part builds upon the 911 Turbo S' existing attributes. For instance, the rear wing optimizes stability at high speeds, while the rear diffuser reduces rear-end lift. The front spoiler with winglets was designed to boost front-end downforce, helping to keep the Turbo S glued to the asphalt. The side fins also contribute to stability at high speeds. 'GW9 by Gunther Werks components are made specifically for modern Porsche fitments and our goal is to enhance the already great design, while giving our customers a unique package that stands out,' said Peter Nam, CEO and founder of Vorsteiner and Gunther Werks. 'GW9 exemplifies our innovation and craftsmanship and it offers a way for the Porsche community to access the Gunther Werks brand.' Components Can Be Purchased Individually, But They're Not Cheap The GW9 brand's site indicates pricing for each of the aero pack's components, and they range from $3,995 for the aero front spoiler winglets all the way to $13,195 for the rear wing. The combined price of all components (with the most expensive finishes) is just over $68,000. Add a set of four GW9 magnesium monoblock wheels, and the total swells to an eye-watering $84,740. That could buy you a brand-new Porsche 718 Cayman S. Then again, the base price of a new 911 Turbo S is already $230,400, so anyone who can afford that will likely also be able to afford a high-end carbon fiber aero package. As a subsidiary of Gunther Werks, which operates out of California, the GW9 brand is expected to expand in the months ahead. Currently, it also has aero packs for the 991.1 GT2 RS, 991.1 GT3 RS, and Taycan. Source: Gunther Werks 911 Turbo S Is A Scary Performer In case you needed reminding, the Porsche 911 Turbo S is a spectacular sports car. Its 3.7-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine produces 640 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. While some 911s are rear-wheel drive, such as the GT3 and GT3 RS, the Turbo S gets all-wheel-drive traction. This, plus the lightning-fast shifts of the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic, allows the Turbo S to streak from 0-60 mph in just 2.6 seconds. Keep your right foot planted, and you'll eventually hit a top speed of 205 mph. GW9 hasn't specified if its aero package improves on these figures in any way, but there's no doubt that any Turbo S is one of the quickest gas-powered cars in the world. Cali-based Porsche tuner Gunther Werks has just unveiled this shiny new carbon fibre aero suit, and it adds more presence to a car that isn't really lacking any. You'll need £46k for all eight pieces, including a front lip sporting aggressive fins, side skirts, plus a rear diffuser and redesigned wing combo. Wire an extra £12k on top, and Gunther Werks will add lightweight, forged magnesium alloys from Vorsteiner. The carbon used is also said to be 30 per cent stronger than the traditional stuff, since it's bonded with Autoclave technology. It's a process whereby the raw material is first cured within a temperature and pressure-controlled chamber, increasing stiffness and durability. No more performance on offer, but again, the 911 Turbo S isn't really lacking any. The 3.7-litre flat-six kicks out 642bhp, gets to 62mph in under three seconds and hits its vmax at 205mph. It's the first product to be released by Gunther Werks' new sub-brand, 'GW9', which will focus primarily on suiting and booting modern 911s. Expect to see more kits like this in due course. Porsche 911 GT2 RS spied carving up the Nurburgring

What is the ultimate 911? For a time it was the GT3 RS, until this interloper was spotted track testing, Porsche's next GT2 RS. It is traditionally a limited run, highly expensive model that pairs the most extreme chassis from a GT3 RS with an even more powerful variant of a turbocharged powertrain. That of course is borrowed from the 911 Turbo S. A wild be-winged prototype of the GT2 RS was spotted testing at the Nurburgring recently. Read our review of the 2019 GT2 RS here. This particular car sports a new set of prototype wheels and substantial air vents and ducting up front. A wing that wouldn't look out of place on a small plane graces the rear. There's carbon galore, the entire bonnet, for example. So too the roof with longitudinal vanes that direct air to that protruding rear appendage. New 992.2 rear lights are fitted, and a special bumper hides a new exhaust system compared with that on the GT3 RS. The Turbo's exhaust is larger and wouldn't fit beneath the GT3 RS bumper. There are no details on the GT2 RS powertrain, though it is possible that a hybrid system will be fitted, similar to that of the GTS. This houses a small motor within the dual-clutch transmission and another one inside a single large turbo. Expect power to edge up significantly from the 515kW figure of the 2017 GT2 RS. Output closing on 600kW for the 992.2 GT2 RS is likely. And Porsche may wish to go that high before European emissions regulations outlaw such outlandish behaviour. Expect the powertrain to spin the rear wheels only, via an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. A manual transmission is unlikely with this amount of power. The substantial aero of the prototype, and chassis upgrades are likely to end up on the finished product. And Porsche is almost certain to utilise carbon fibre for most body panels and large parts of the interior. Whether or not exotic items like hydraulically cross-linked dampers or the like are fitted remains to be seen.

Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Smokes 911 Turbo S Lap Record

Read the full story on Modern Car Collector In a remarkable display of electric vehicle prowess, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT has set a new lap record for EVs at Brazil's renowned Interlagos circuit, outpacing the formidable Porsche 911 Turbo S. Brazilian racing driver Felipe Nasr achieved the feat, navigating the circuit in an impressive 1 minute and 42.1 seconds, eclipsing the previous record held by the 911 Turbo S by nearly a full second. This achievement not only underscores the advancements in electric vehicle technology but also marks a significant milestone for Porsche, as the automaker now holds both the EV and gas-powered production car lap records at Interlagos. The previous lap record for combustion engine vehicles was set by a Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR earlier this month. The Taycan Turbo GT, Porsche's most potent EV offering, boasts a staggering 1092 horsepower, which propels the car from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 2.1 seconds, with a top speed of 190 mph. This impressive performance is a step up even from the Taycan Turbo S, which recorded a lap time of 1 minute and 49.8 seconds at the same circuit last year. Porsche's electric flagship has not only dominated at Interlagos but also holds records at other iconic tracks, including California's Laguna Seca and Germany's Nürburgring Nordschleife, further establishing its supremacy in the electric vehicle segment. This latest record at Interlagos serves as a testament to the evolving landscape of automotive engineering, where electric vehicles increasingly rival their internal combustion counterparts in both speed and agility. Porsche's commitment to enhancing its electric vehicle lineup is evident as it continues to push the boundaries of what these cars can achieve on the racetrack. The achievement by the Taycan Turbo GT at Interlagos not only highlights the capabilities of electric vehicles but also sets a new benchmark in the world of high-performance sports cars, signaling a promising future for electric racing. Porsche's Taycan Turbo GT Beats the 911 Turbo S Around This Grand Prix Track

Porsche's fastest and most extreme electric car, the Taycan Turbo GT, was already named Road & Track's Performance EV of the Year in its price segment for 2025 — and now, it has another prize to its name. The Taycan Turbo GT has set the official fastest lap for an EV at Interlagos, home of the Brazilian Grand Prix. Not only that, the electric four-door beat Porsche's most powerful 911 variant, the 911 Turbo S. Felipe Nasr, a Brazilian former F1 driver and a factory driver with Porsche Penske Motorsport's 963 prototype program, lapped the grand prix circuit in 1:42.1. Not only is that nearly eight seconds quicker than the previous EV record set by a Taycan Turbo S at 1:49.8, the lap is quicker than the time of 1:43.1 set by a 911 Turbo S. The GT-branded Taycan is also faster than official Porsche laps in a last-generation Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid (1:48.3) and a Cayenne Turbo GT (1:48.5) but still more than five seconds behind the ridiculously quick 991-generation 911 GT2 RS equipped with a Manthey kit (1:37) Just as with Porsche's previously-announced EV lap records at Laguna Seca and the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the Taycan Turbo GT's lap at Interlagos puts it in the realm of GT4 race cars. Not only is that impressive for an EV, it's particularly eye-opening for a four-door sedan of any power source. Still, a similarly powerful electric Porsche not carrying around the extra weight of a sedan could theoretically run laps even faster, and the quickest versions of Porsche's upcoming electric 718 may well be able to one-up all of the records currently being set by the Taycan Turbo GT. If the GT4 E-Performance concept that Porsche showed off in 2022 is any indication, the quickest variants of that car could be the fastest road-going EVs to ever lap a race track. At least, until Porsche's subsequent generation comes along. You Might Also Like You Need a Torque Wrench in Your Toolbox Tested: Best Car Interior Cleaners The Man Who Signs Every Car
