Jay-Z slams rape accuser in lawsuit amendment

Jay-Z has blasted the "shocking and reckless disregard for the truth" that his rape accuser has allegedly shown. The 99 Problems hitmaker is suing the anonymous Jane Doe and her lawyers for malicious prosecution and defamation and in an amended complaint filed on Monday. He alleged the woman had "not stopped" making statement about him, despite agreeing in February to voluntarily dismiss her sexual assault lawsuit against him. In documents obtained by Rolling Stone, Jay claimed that as recently as 11 April, the woman posted a lip-synched video on Tik Tok which stated: "You couldn't pay me a million dollars to get an apology video out of me, I stand on what I said, f**k you." The amended complaint stated: "By refusing to apologise, and continuing to 'stand on what (she) said,' despite all the evidence and, indeed, her own admissions to the contrary, Doe continues to display a shocking and reckless disregard for the truth that is both intentional and malicious. "Doe never had any reasonable grounds to support any truth in her statements and acted with reckless disregard for the truth. In other words, she lied." Jay also accused lawyer Tony Buzbee of tampering with Wikipedia pages. The filing stated: "Buzbee directed his employees to edit Wikipedia pages to enhance Buzbee's image and damage Mr. Carter's and Roc Nation's reputations. "Users with an IP address directly linked to the Buzbee Firm made over 100 positive edits to Buzbee's Wikipedia page." The amended complaint came in response to Jane Doe and her lawyer challenging his lawsuit by arguing he had failed to show the "special injury" needed to pursue his case and insisted his prior claim that Roc Nation lost out on an unspecified $US20 million ($A31 million) deal as a result were not sufficient. But in his amendment, Jay - whose real name is Shawn Carter - claimed the sum represented the "minimum fee guarantee" for an undisclosed contract and the full figure "would have been many millions of dollars higher had the contract been performed." The 55-year-old rapper also alleged the rape accusation harmed his ability to pursue new opportunities. The complaint stated: "As a result of defendants' filing of the false lawsuit and other false public statements against Mr. Carter, Mr. Carter was denied a $US55 million ($A86 million) personal credit line." It also claimed that Roc Nation - of which Jay is a 50 per cent owner - had been denied a $US115 million ($A179 million) loan and he and the company are "inextricably tied". In response, Buzbee insisted the case is "meritless" and "should be dismissed". Of the Wikipedia claim, he said: "That's a first for me and is incredibly weak."

Jimmie Allen is back with Delaware summer concert 2025. Here's what to know

Before saddling up to play Dover this summer, Delaware country star Jimmie Allen gave fans a Jay-Z-inspired message on Instagram: "I got 99 problems but a beer ain't one." Tickets are now on sale for Allen's concert at Bally's Dover Casino Resort on June 20. The lyrics Allen sang are from Justin Moore's 2024 song "Beer Ain't One" featuring Blake Shelton. (Justin Moore will play two nights at the Bottle & Cork in Dewey Beach on July 24-25.) Allen sang lyrics from "Beer Ain't One" during his performance on On The Radar Radio (OTRR). Allen posted a video clip to his IG account on April 28. OTRR is a popular brand with millions of subscribers across its social media platforms, and is known for hosting freestyles/live performances, including a performance from Taylor Swift's rapper friend Ice Spice. Allen's performance was part of OTRR country edition. The song choice was also a nod to Jay-Z 's song "99 Problems," from the early 2000s, which stated: "Ninety-nine problems, but a bi--h ain't one." Similar to Jay-Z, who was accused of sexual assault by a woman who dropped a lawsuit against him in February, Allen has had several women accuse him of assault, one of whom later agreed to drop the lawsuit. Allen hasn't faced any criminal charges, but the allegations took a toll on his career. The singer has yet to regain the level of success he once had, from co-hosting the ACM Awards alongside Dolly Parton to performing in stadiums. Here's a look at the Milton native's legal troubles. Jimmie Allen timeline of legal drama: For sexual assault lawsuits filed against him Allen's ex-manager, known in court documents as "Jane Doe," sued him in May 2023, alleging that he regularly sexually abused and harassed her while she was his day-to-day manager from 2020 to 2022. Less than a month after the first woman accused Allen of assault, a second woman filed a lawsuit against the singer, accusing him of sexually assaulting her in a Las Vegas hotel room and recording the encounter without her consent in July 2022. Allen responded with a countersuit against both women in July 2023. The singer filed the suits to "protect my reputation and refute these claims that have caused severe damage to my family, mental health and business," he told People in a statement. In March 2024, Allen and his former manager agreed to drop their lawsuits against each other, The Tennessean reported. At that time, one of the plaintiff's lawyers, Beth Fegan at Chicago firm FeganScott, confirmed the decision. "FeganScott can confirm that Jane Doe and Jimmie Allen have reached a mutual accord as to Plaintiff's claims and Mr. Allen's counterclaims and have agreed to dismiss them. The decision reflects only that both parties desire to move past litigation," a statement from the law firm read in part. In a second statement, The Tennessean reported that Fegan reiterated that "my client stands by her statements in the complaint, that Allen raped her while she was incapacitated and sexually abused her while she was his day-to-day manager." Additionally, "Jane Doe entered into a settlement agreement with Jimmie Allen to avoid the trauma of reliving her abuse over the course of a painful trial," the statement read in part. The Tennessean reported in March 2024 that the former manager wasn't dropping her claims against the artist management company that hired her, Wide Open Music, and its founder, Ash Bowers, accusing him of knowingly failing to protect her after learning about the alleged abuse. After the second accuser came forward, Allen's record label dropped him. His talent agency and publicity firm also dropped the one-time Country Music Association New Artist of the Year, who was fresh off the road from an arena tour opening for Carrie Underwood when the accusations hit. Allen disappeared from the airwaves and already-scheduled concerts were canceled. But there were some Delaware venues that didn't turn its back on the multiplatinum-selling country star. Amidst the assault allegations, Allen has performed at spots in lower Delaware like the Bottle & Cork and Rusty Rudder, (along with a surprise appearance at the Paradise Grill), and he participated in local charity events and tried out his stand-up comedy at the Milton Theater. Allen's next home show will take place this summer at Bally's Dover Casino Resort — a departure from his usual concerts farther south in the state that offer a beach and bar vibe. The Dover location holds personal significance since Allen once briefly was a student at Delaware State University, before he became famous. The concert is at Bally's Dover Casino Resort (1131 N. Dupont Highway, Dover) at 9 p.m. June 20. Tickets are $75-$150. For more info, visit News Journal reporter Ryan Cormier contributed to this report. Jay-Z rape accuser files to dismiss his case against her

The Alabama woman who accused Jay-Z of a 2000 sexual assault - only to find herself sued by the New York City rap icon - has filed papers asking the court to scuttle the case filed against her. Jay-Z's accuser - who says the Empire State Of Mind artist and Sean ' Diddy ' Combs sexually assaulted her when she was 13 - identifies herself as Jane Doe in court documents. The case was ultimately dropped in February in what the 99 Problems rapper characterized as a 'victory.' In the latest legal docs, Jane Doe said Jay-Z 'fails to state a claim upon which relief can be granted' in his lawsuit against her in Alabama, where he is also suing her lawyer Tony Buzbee, People reported after reviewing court docs. Jane Doe told the court that the 24-time Grammy-winner is trying to sue her over 'privileged' claims made expressly to the court, TMZ reported Tuesday. She noted in her new legal filing that a December interview she did with NBC News was protected based on the aforementioned claims of 'privileged' claims. has reached out to Buzbee and reps for Jay-Z for comment on the story. Jay-Z's accuser claims he and Sean 'Diddy' Combs sexually assaulted her, and identifies herself as Jane Doe in court docs. Seen anonymously in an NBC News interview last year Jay-Z earlier this month filed the lawsuit against sued the Alabama woman who accused him of a 2000 sexual assault with Combs saying the 'lies' and 'extortionate threats' made by them led him to a $20 million loss. Jane Doe this week requested that the case brought by the Big Pimpin' artist be dismissed with prejudice, the outlet reported. The Empire State Of Mind artist accused the defendants in the case, in addition to attorney David Fortney, of 'malicious prosecution, abuse of process, civil conspiracy and defamation,' according to legal documents filed in Alabama and reviewed by In the legal complaint reviewed by the outlet, the 99 Problems rapper, who is wed to fellow music superstar Beyoncé, 43, says the defendants 'were soullessly motivated by greed, in abject disregard of the truth and the most fundamental precepts of human decency.' Buzbee represented the woman claiming the 24-time Grammy-winner and Combs sexually assaulted her when she was 13. She claims the incident took place at an MTV Music Awards afterparty in September of 2000 - accusations which Jay-Z and Diddy have denied. The case was dismissed in February, with the Hard Knock Life rapper saying at the time, 'Today is a victory. The frivolous, fictitious and appalling allegations have been dismissed. This civil suit was without merit and never going anywhere.' Buzbee told exclusively at the time, 'This new case alleges the same claims as the other one they pieced together and filed in Los Angeles. 'Like the one in LA, this new case in Alabama also has no legal merit. He continued: 'Shawn Carter's investigators have repeatedly harassed, threatened and harangued this poor woman for weeks trying to intimidate her and make her recant her story. 'She hasn't, and won't. Instead she has stated repeatedly she stands by her claims. These same group of investigators have been caught on tape offering to pay people to sue me and my firm.' Buzbee told that he spoke 'with Jane Doe today' and 'it appears that the quotes attributed to her in the lawsuit are completely made up, or they spoke to someone who isn't Jane Doe.' The attorney added: 'This is just another attempt to intimidate and bully this poor woman that we will deal with in due course.' Buzbee wrapped up his statement to 'We won't be bullied or intimidated by frivolous cases.' In January, lawyers for Jay-Z asked the court to sanction sanction Buzbee, alleging he did not personally meet with the woman ahead of filing the legal complaint, TMZ reported after reviewing legal docs in the case. The legal team for the 24-time Grammy-winner, led by attorney Alex Spiro, said Buzbee admitted to not personally speaking with the woman ahead of filing the case, which is a major ethical lapse, TMZ reported. Buzbee told in response that 'what Spiro has filed, like everything else he has filed thus far, is utterly frivolous and meritless.' Buzbee previously told TMZ that 'he did, in fact, personally interview the plaintiff, as did four other lawyers,' the outlet reported, noting that he said that 'anyone who says otherwise has their own agenda.' Buzbee told that 'with every frantic filing the defense in this case grows more desperate.' He added of his case against the rapper, whose name is Shawn Carter: 'The rules apply equally to everyone, even those who wrongly think they are above the law. No one is above the law.' Lawyers for Jay-Z said that Buzbee - whose Texas-based firm is in charge of more than 150 people suing Combs - didn't properly vet the woman accusing Jay-Z ahead of a December interview she conducted with NBC News in which she acknowledged inconsistencies in her story. Jane Doe said in her legal filing she was living in Rochester in 2000 when she made her way to New York City and befriended a limousine driver who drove her to the party in a trek that took about 20 minutes. Buzbee has said his firm is representing more than 150 people, both male and female, who claims Combs sexual abused and exploited them. Many of Buzbee's legal filing include allegations of spiked drinks at lavish parties in locales such as New York, California and Florida. Combs' lawyers have characterized Buzbee's lawsuits as 'shameless publicity stunts, designed to extract payments from celebrities who fear having lies spread about them, just as lies have been spread about Mr. Combs.' Jay-Z and Combs gained fame in the 2000s, emerging as successful rappers and business magnates, with Forbes last year estimating Jay-Z's net worth to be $2.5 billion. The artists have collaborated over the years, with Jay-Z appearing on Combs' debut album, No Way Out and Combs performing on Jay-Z´s sophomore album, In My Lifetime, Vol. 1. Combs has pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking charges after his September arrest. He has remained incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn awaiting a May 5 trial, after he was refused bail on multiple occasions. Prosecutors in Combs' federal case say the music mogul used blackmail and violence in his efforts to silence victims. Among the claims made against the entertainer is that he persuaded women to participate against their will in group sexual exhibitions referred to as 'Freak Offs.' The Can't Nobody Hold Me Down performer remains in federal custody nearly five months after his September 16 arrest in Manhattan in connection with sex trafficking and racketeering charges. Combs, who is also charged with transportation to engage in prostitution, has made a trio of attempts in vain to be granted bail, amid concerns from the court he would attempt to flee or tamper with his case. Prior to his arrest he was in the headlines for much of 2024 year after raids on multiple properties in March; and video of him assaulting Cassie surfacing on CNN in May. Lawyers for Combs - who has denied all of the claims against him - issued a statement last month in response to the litigation their client is involved in. 'No matter how many lawsuits are filed - especially by individuals who refuse to put their own names behind their claims - it won't change the fact that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted or sex trafficked anyone - man or woman, adult or minor,' attorneys for Combs said.
