As the NHL and NBA postseasons come to an explosive head in their respective championship series and MLB's regular season begins its third full month, the monolithic NFL machine continues to operate quietly in the background.
All 32 teams' (optional) organized team activities (OTAs) are winding down as June begins. Minicamps are next up on the docket in the NFL offseason calendar – the first offseason workouts featuring mandatory attendance this year and the last round of offseason workouts before training camp.
As is the case with OTAs, minicamp prohibits full contact drills. Players can participate in 7-on-7s, 9-on-7s and 11-on-11s, but contact drills won't be allowed until training camp in mid-July.

Minicamps are mandatory, which means players not in attendance will be fined for their absences. According to Spotrac, a player fine will be a maximum of $17,462 for the first day absent, $34,925 for the second day and $52,381 for missing a third day.

When does NFL minicamp start?
The start of the NFL's mandatory minicamp varies by team. Most will host their offseason workout session from June 10-12, but some will open camp earlier.
Notably, the Chicago Bears' mandatory minicamp ran from June 3-5. As such, their three-day session will wrap up before any other camp begins.
A handful of teams will have later minicamps than the rest of the league. The Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams, New York Giants and Seattle Seahawks will all host start their minicamps on either June 16 or 17 as they begin to prepare for the 2025 NFL season.
Only one NFL team has canceled its mandatory minicamp for 2025. That would be the Detroit Lions, who called off the three-day session after being chosen to participate in the NFL's Hall of Fame Game to kickstart the preseason.
The Lions will instead open training camp early in advance of their July 31 date with the Los Angeles Chargers, per the Detroit Free Press.
