Joe Biden, of course, ended his campaign as the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee on July 21, 2024, and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris in her bid for the White House. However, Harris and her vice presidential running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, lost the 2024 presidential election to former President Donald Trump and his VP running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, in November of 2024. Show panelist Whoopi Goldberg announced on The View on May 1 that former President and First Lady Biden would be appearing on the ABC-TV daytime talk show on Thursday, May 8. The Bidens will be interviewed for the first time since Joe Biden left the White House by Goldberg and her fellow View panel members Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sarah Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro. 'We'll ask about his legacy, accomplishments, regrets and of course, the current political landscape,' Goldberg noted in the announcement.
