Qidere 'LGP QUA' Johnson was shot and killed in Philadelphia on Mother's Day in what authorities are saying was a robbery gone wrong. The Philadelphia Police Department confirmed to ABC News that the 30-year-old artist, who was also outspoken about gun violence and promoted positivity, was shot multiple times a little after 4:40 p.m. in the Juanita Park neighborhood. 'I am heartbroken because people knew QUA as a rapper, but people didn't know him as a community advocate. Literally, he was the voice of the youth.' The young rapper was known as the 'Voice of the Youth' because of the honest way he approached street life in his music. The rapper decided to rebrand himself as a positive influence after spending time in prison. Media personality Mina 'SayWhat' Llona, who has interviewed LGP multiple times, spoke with ABC 6 Action News about Johnson's death. 'It's heartbreaking, it's just not enough words and I think people are just tired,' she told the news outlet. 'You know, we're tired of saying 'rest in peace,' we're tired of it being the same story and the same narrative. We're losing young people that are very talented.' She noted that it's unfortunate that even someone as positive as Johnson is vulnerable to gun violence. 'A young guy not saying those things, being positive,' she said. 'You know, giving people inspiration and even he is susceptible to some of the things that our youth are dealing with right now, and it's just sad.' Meek Mill was also disappointed when heard the news, taking to his Instagram Stories to make a statement. 'Killing ambitious young bulls like this on Mother's Day is a Philly type of thing,' the Philly rapper said. 'S—t will make you different. Prayers to your family, and let's collect some of them guns. S–t sad out here.' In 2018, LGP QUA was honored by the city and state at his former school, Edward T. Steel Elementary, where he and Puma also donated $10,000. 'Whoever is looking at me getting these awards and certificates, is like, 'There is hope,'' the rapper said at the event. 'They see someone who was on the negative side change and is on the positive side now.' The school's principle Jamal Dennis added at the time, 'It's very hard to do a lot of things if you never seen it, Bringing someone in that they can actually see and hear from, that the road is going to be bumpy — things happen in life.' New Jersey Pastor Charged With Sexually Assaulting Teen
A New Jersey pastor has been charged for allegedly sexually assaulting a teenager in the Trenton area. According to ABC 6 Action News, Charles B. Brinson, 64, was arrested on February 19 by the Trenton Police Department following an investigation conducted by TPD and the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office. Brinson is accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old after allegedly rendering the minor unconscious with a 'substance in an unmarked bottle on two occasions.' Investigations have yielded evidence that the two attacks happened at the pastor's home, a location just a block down the street from Brinson Memorial Church Incorporated, in January and February 2025. A woman named Brooke Baker spoke to the news outlet about the jarring accusations flung at Brinson. She insisted that she actually never saw the man do anything positive for the community and never bonded with any of the neighborhood's residents. 'I've never seen him come out and do anything for the community, to come out and introduce himself to the residents or anything,' Baker recalled. 'To know that we had somebody that close that's doing things and we didn't know? It's kinda freaky.' According to this isn't the first time that Charles B. Brinson has been hit with these accusations if this kind. The religious figure was arrested back in 2008 for felony contact with a minor, where he was charged for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old Philadelphia native. The embattled pastor ended up pleading guilty in that case to one count of corruption of a minor, resulting in four years probation. Charles B. Brinson is currently being held at a jail in Mercer County, with a detention hearing arriving in mid-March. Law enforcement in the Trenton area is pleading with the community to come forth with more accounts pertaining to the pastor's alleged machinations. A Philadelphia family is mourning the loss of their loved one who was a victim of last week's deadly plane crash. Local police have identified 37-year-old Steven Dreuitt as the person who was found dead in his car when a medical plane leaving the Northeast Philadelphia Airport crashed on January 31, leaving wreckage and a massive fire on the ground below. According to his family, Dreuitt was driving with his girlfriend, Dominique, and his nine-year-old son, Ramesses, to the Macy's store at Philadelphia's Roosevelt Mall – which is less than five miles from the Northeast Philadelphia Airport –when a Learjet 55 crashed, killing all six of the passengers and crew members on board. Dreuitt's son and partner were among the more than 20 people who were injured in the accident. Ramesses mother, Jamie Vazquez-Viana, told Philadelphia's ABC 6 Action News that the crash left her son with burns on 90 of his body. Although she is 'super scared' about her son's condition, she is leaning on family and friends and praying for the best possible outcome for his recovery. 'We just hoping for the best, and we like leaning on prayer. It's heartbreaking just going through it,' she said. Dreuitt's partner Dominique, was also injured in the crash. Her cousin, Shantelle Fletcher, confirmed the news to reporters. 'She is in a medically-induced coma,' she told Philadelphia's NBC10 on February 2. 'Seventy percent of her body is burnt.' As the city continues to assess the damage in the area, local officials held an emergency community meeting on February 5 to discuss resources available to residents who have been impacted by the crash. According to ABC 6 Action News, the Philadelphia Register of Wills announced it will replace 'essential records destroyed or damaged in the crash' free of charge. The commerce department announced emergency grants for affected businesses. Mayor Cherelle L. Parker also announced the creation of a 'One Philly Fund' to support victims of the crash.
