Bill Belichick says he's 'still learning''everyday at college level
Bill Belichick says he's 'still learning''everyday at college level Bill Belichick spent his morning on a popular talk show, where he spoke about coaching college football. Coaching at a new level of football is a challenge for anyone, even Bill Belichick, an 8-time Super Bowl Champion between his time with the New York Giants and New England Patriots. The North Carolina Tar Heels made offseason headlines in December 2024, when they hired Belichick to be their next head football coach. While Belichick hasn't coached at the college level before, UNC fans hope his NFL success will turn UNC into a consistent winning program. Belichick is already generating national media attention, the kind North Carolina football hasn't experienced before. On Friday morning, Belichick's media tour continued on Good Morning America with Michael Strahan: a 7-time Pro Bowler, the 2001 NFL Defensive Player of the Year and Super Bowl XLII Champion, which he won against Belichick's Patriots. "I've learned so much being back in the college environment, whether it be recruiting, the college game, the rules, the hashmarks, some strategy and putting a team together," Belichick told Strahan. "I learn every day." Strahan also asked Belichick about his much-younger girlfriend, Jordon Hudson. Unlike the ACC Spring Meetings on Tuesday, where Belichick didn't want to talk about Jordon, he praised Jordon for her help. "She's been terrific through the whole process, and she's been very helpful to me," Belichick said. "She does the business things that don't relate to North Carolina that come up in my life, so I can concentrate on football, and that's really what I want to do. I acknowledged her in the book. She was very helpful on that with the tribute pages and also giving a perspective of the book from kind of a business side. Sometimes I get a little football technical, and she did a good job of keeping me on balance there." There's plenty of anticipation building for the Tar Heels' 2025 season, which begins Monday, September 1 against the TCU Horned Frogs. Kickoff time was initially announced for 7:30 p.m., but got pushed back 30 minutes. Bill Belichick explains why Jordon Hudson is ‘terrific' before cutting off personal questions on ‘GMA'
Bill Belichick is happy to have his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, supporting him in his first season as North Carolina's head football coach. During an interview with 'Good Morning America' on Friday, Belichick told Michael Strahan that Hudson has been 'terrific' and explained her role in his professional life, which doesn't involve UNC football. 'She's been terrific through the whole process, and she's been really helpful to me,' Belichick said when asked about the attention their relationship has received. 'She does the business things that don't relate to North Carolina that come up in my life, so I can concentrate football and that's really what I want to do.' Advertisement Belichick, who appeared on 'GMA' to promote his new book, 'The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football,' which was released May 6, mentioned that he included Hudson in it. He referred to Hudson as his 'idea mill' and 'creative muse.' You know I'm not talking about personal relationships, Michael, you know that.' 'Are you happy?' Strahan asked. Advertisement 'Yeah,' Belichick said with a smile. The coach laughed when Strahan mentioned his viral Instagram photo with Hudson that showed the couple doing yoga poses on the beach. It was his second televised interview in which he explained that his professional life and personal life are two separate things after his disastrous 'CBS Sunday Mornings' interview. During a Tuesday appearance on 'SportsCenter,' Belichick said Hudson has nothing to do with the UNC football program. Advertisement Bill Belichick and his girlfriend Jordon Hudson in 2024. Belichick told ESPN he discussed the situation surrounding his personal life with his team and that it won't be a distraction. 'I talked to the players when we meet with them,' Belichick said. 'We want to make the players the best they can be and giving them the best opportunity on and off the field.' That day, UNC athletic director Bubba Cunningham avoided any mention of Hudson while discussing Belichick's role as head football coach amid potential distractions in the program. 'Bill's been great to work with,' Cunningham said. 'He talked about practicing like a pro and he runs a professional organization that is teaching students how to be professional in all aspects of their life. He is a very determined, professional individual, and that's the way he carries himself and the way he conducts the program.' Belichick and Hudson have been under a microscope after Hudson interrupted Belichick's CBS interview when the former NFL coach was asked about how the couple met. They went public with their romance last year.

Local TV interview of Bill Belichick comes with key condition: No Jordon Hudson questions
Bill Belichick doesn't want to talk about the person who notoriously told him not to talk about how they met. During the ACC Spring Meetings, Belichick agreed to do a sit-down interview with Brian Murphy of WRAL-TV in Raleigh. Before the interview plays, Murphy explains that North Carolina asked him 'to keep questions about football.' Murphy will get credit from some for disclosing that North Carolina told him not to ask about the Jordon Hudson dynamic. But Murphy had to add that disclaimer; otherwise, people would watch the six-minute interview and get to the end and wonder what the hell happened. Frankly, Murphy and WRAL should have refused to do the interview. Hey, UNC, you want free publicity for your football program? Don't attach stupid conditions on the questions that can and can't be asked. Bill Belichick is a big boy. Despite his accomplishments, he's not above being asked the most obvious question anyone would ask him. He chose to involve Hudson in his professional life. Even though he tried to claim during an ESPN interview on Wednesday that it's simply a 'personal relationship,' it wasn't and it isn't. He allowed that to happen. Belichick does himself no favors by running from the questions that naturally flow from this most unusual set of circumstances. UNC, which reportedly has hired former Bears P.R. executive Brandon Faber, does Belichick no favors by attempting to shield 'the greatest coach of all time' from fair questions about the extent to which she was involved in the football operation — and how that came to an end. There's still an unresolved issue over Pablo Torre's report that Hudson had been banned from the football facility and UNC's carefully-worded statement that, at the most superficial level, refutes the reporting. Something went down in the aftermath of the disastrous CBS interview. Why should Belichick be shielded from answering questions about the apparent push-and-pull that resulted in Hudson being very involved with UNC football to not being involved at all. Remember, UNC is a public institution. It receives public money. The idea that UNC would limit public access to relevant information has a much different feel than it would if it were a truly private business. Above all else, the situation proves (conclusively, in our view) that Belichick is bothered by all of this. That he allowed himself to get over his skis. That he flew close to the sun on wings of on to Cincinnati. Belichick created a personal situation that became a professional situation that morphed into one of the biggest stories in all of sports. Even if he didn't plan it for publicity purposes (and he surely didn't), it happened. Conditioning interviews on the interviewer not even checking the box with a question that allows him to recite his talking point makes him look lame. It makes him look small. It makes him look weak. Which is the worst look any football coach can have. It all continues in two days, when Belichick appears on Good Morning America. Does ABC really need to have EXCLUSIVE! access to Belichick if exclusivity entails the exclusion of the most interesting subject? If Belichick or UNC attempt to attach any conditions to that interview, GMA should cancel it. The ratings for Friday's show will be the same either way.

Bill Belichick's UNC boss hit with Jordon Hudson ban questions after firing rumors surface
UNC athletic director Bubba Cunningham avoided any mention of Jordon Hudson while discussing Bill Belichick's role as head football coach amid potential distractions in the program. During an interview with ESPN on Tuesday, Cunningham denied a report by Pablo Torre that claimed Hudson, 24, was banned from UNC athletics — and praised Belichick, 73, for carrying himself as a 'professional individual.' 'Bill's been great to work with,' Cunningham said. 'He talked about practicing like a pro and he runs a professional organization that is teaching students how to be professional in all aspects of their life.
