Cyclists ride 150 miles across Texas for multiple sclerosis awareness this weekend
AUSTIN (KXAN) — Cyclists from Austin and Houston will ride 150 miles across central Texas this weekend to raise awareness for multiple sclerosis and MS research.
The ACC Texas Bike MS 150 starts Saturday.
Austin riders leave from the Texas Capitol at 6:45 Saturday morning. Riders from Austin and Houston will meet Sunday at the finish line in College Station, near Kyle Field.
For drivers and pedestrians in downtown Austin Saturday morning, two blocks of Congress Street will be closed between 9th Street and 11th Street. Cyclists will travel east on East 12th Street to Springdale Road, and then down East Martin Luther King Jr Blvd.
Bike MS is the largest fundraising cycling series in the world, and the Texas ride is the largest in the country. ACC Texas MS 150 is also the fourth largest cause-related ride in America with an average of 6,800 riders.
