Agra woman, lover arrested for husband's murder
Agra: A woman and her lover have been arrested for allegedly murdering her husband in Agra's Shamshabad area after he objected to their relationship, police said on Wednesday, adding that incident took place on Tuesday night and came to light on Wednesday morning when the body of
Bhimsen Singh
, 34, was found at an under-construction building in Meharmpur village.
The police identified the accused as his wife Babita Singh, 30, and Deepak Singh, 23, who worked at a brick kiln.
The arrest came after Bhimsen's brother filed a complaint, prompting registration of a case under BNS section 103(1) (murder). A team from Shamshabad police station, along with a forensic unit, reached the crime scene after receiving an alert about a body found with injury marks. The ACP Shamshabad Girish Kumar Singh said, "Acting on a tip-off, we arrested the suspects near the village temple. During questioning, Deepak confessed that he had been in a relationship with Babita. Bhimsen had come to know about this, and it often led to fights between him and Babita. On the night of the murder, Deepak called Bhimsen to drink liquor and then killed him while he was drunk."
