SRM AP catalyses launch of 100 women-led Startups
Vijayawada: ADITRI, the flagship event by the Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, witnessed the launch of 100 women-led startups at SRM University, Amaravati. The momentous launch and machinery distribution & technical know-how transfer ceremony was inaugurated by Dr Chandra Shekhar Pemmasani, Minister of State for Rural Development & Communications, Government of India. Dr Pemmasani handed over machinery and certificates to the women entrepreneurs and stated, 'Everyone wishes to be an entrepreneur. But it takes perseverance, courage, and sacrifice to actually pursue that path. The women here have shown that with passion and initiative, anything is possible.' The Minister lauded the contribution of SRM AP University, the grassroot level efforts of its Centre for Social Entrepreneurship on achieving this huge social change milestone. He also enumerated the myriad schemes such as MUDRA, Lakhpati Didi, Start-Up India, and Stand-Up India, as well as the digital platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, WhatsApp, and so on, using which entrepreneurs can learn and grow. The event saw the participation of more than 1,500 individuals along with SRM AP's Vice Chancellor, Prof Manoj K Arora; Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof Ch Sathish Kumar; Registrar, Dr R Premkumar, Deans, Directors, and members of the faculty, staff, and students. ADITRI, the Rural Women Micro-entrepreneurship initiative of SRM AP, is committed to empowering rural women, enabling them to be self-reliant, and improving their livelihood access. This mission also addresses critical gaps such as the lack of market access and resource acquisition.

Perseverance is key to success, Union Minister tells women entrepreneurs
Entrepreneurship is not only about ideas but also about endurance. The road is paved with sleepless nights, tough decisions and relentless hustle, said Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Pemmasani Chandrasekhar. Speaking after inaugurating ADITRI (Advancing Development and Transformation in Rural India), a rural entrepreneurship initiative launched by the Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at SRM University-AP, on Saturday, Mr. Chandrasekhar addressed the women entrepreneurs there. 'Preparing to persevere through every obstacle with unwavering determination is the key to success,' he said. The event was marked by the launch of 100 women-led startups. The Union Minister handed over machinery and certificates to women entrepreneurs and lauded the SRM University for extending support to them. Referring to the government schemes and initiatives such as MUDRA, Lakhpati Didi, Start-up India and Stand-up India and digital platforms such as Facebook, YouTube and WhatsApp, he said women entrepreneurs should learn the nuances and grow in their respective areas. 'Today, women can access knowledge on packaging, selling and pricing on their mobile phones,' he said, adding that self-help groups (SHGs) offered both community support and a path to income. SRM-AP Vice-Chancellor Manoj K. Arora, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Ch. Satish Kumar, Registrar R. Premkumar, Deans, Directors and members of the faculty, staff and students were present.

SRM-AP to celebrate ADITRI tomorrow
Amaravati: SRM University-AP is all set to celebrate the pioneering rural entrepreneurship initiative, ADITRI on Saturday, according to a communiqué from SRM-AP here on Thursday. ADITRI, which stands for Advancing Development and Transformation in Rural India, is a CSR project patronised by the varsity and is dedicated to supporting and empowering rural women micro-entrepreneurs. This event is the summit of a year-long endeavour by the Centre for Social Entrepreneurship of SRM-AP that engaged and inspired 2,500+ rural women across six mandals in AP. Union Minister of State for Rural Development, Communications Dr Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani will inaugurate the event and hand over the machinery and certificates to women entrepreneurs. The occasion will not only witness the launch of the newly built rural women ventures but will also showcase their products through several live stalls. SRM University-AP has utilised about Rs 2 crore to launch these ventures over the last year that includes machinery, boot camps, mentoring, licensing, digital marketing, technical know-how transfer and other entrepreneurial support services.
