Egypt's Mufti Participates in Uzbekistan Conference on Maturidi Legacy, Religious Tolerance

Egypt's Grand Mufti, President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, Dr. Nazir Ayyad, took part in the international conference 'Maturidism: A Doctrine of Tolerance, Moderation, and Knowledge' held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, where he highlighted the Maturidi school's rational and balanced approach to Islamic theology.
Dr. Ayyad emphasized its commitment to harmonizing reason and revelation, upholding ethical values, and fostering peaceful coexistence.
The Grand Mufti also visited key Islamic heritage sites, including the Imam al-Bukhari Institute and the shrine of Imam al-Qaffal al-Shashi.
In a meeting with Uzbekistan's Grand Mufti, he stressed the need for global collaboration among religious institutions to counter extremism and advance a renewed, balanced religious discourse.
