Bills New Receiver Touts Versatility In Josh Allen-Led Offense

When the Buffalo Bills fell to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Title game last season, one of the big reasons they lost, according to some analysts, was the lack of a true No. 1 receiver. Pickings were slim for the organization to improve that group during both free agency and the draft. Advertisement But ... They were still able to come away with one of the better overall weapons in the offseason. Joshua Palmer, the veteran wide receiver from the Los Angeles Chargers, signed a free agent deal with the Bills to the tune of a three-year, $36 million agreement. Palmer had been a consistent receiving threat for the Chargers offense with Justin Herbert throwing him the ball. Now, he gets Josh Allen, the reigning league MVP as the person in charge of getting him the rock. With Buffalo returning most of their offense from last season, the addition of Palmer, and his versatility, makes the group even more powerful than they were over the last couple of years. Advertisement 'I pride myself a lot on playing every position on the field," said Palmer during an interview on One Bills Live. "So even when I train, I train in the slot, I train in the boundary, I train out wide because it's a whole different game in those three different spots. So I like to pride myself on knowing how to do all that." The organization will need to get the Toronto native Palmer integrated into the offense as quickly as possible at this point. With his skill set, though, there's hope that Palmer will be an immediate contributor to Buffalo's elite offense. And might be the last piece of the puzzle to get the organization past the Chiefs once and for all. Bills Game Labeled Top Primetime Matchup of 2025

The Buffalo Bills have plenty of great matchups schedule across the 2025 season. A rematch of last season's AFC Title game, a showdown with the defending Super Bowl champions, and plenty of other playoff contenders are slated to face off against Buffalo. The top game for fans, though, may be the very first of the season. Advertisement While Buffalo is expected to take part in five Primetime games, one of the bigger matchups to watch will come when they take on the Baltimore Ravens to open the 2025 season on Sunday Night Football. According to NFL media's digital content editor Jeremy Bergman, that first game will be the best battle on Sunday Night Football this year. "Sunday Night Football starts with a bang this year, with a rematch of last year's down-to-the-wire Divisional Round duel between the NFL's top two MVP contenders," Bergman said. "That Ravens-Bills instant classic was hyped to the extreme even before kickoff, with Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen getting to play out their year-long battle for MVP on the field, with a trip to Arrowhead and the AFC title game on the line." Buffalo defeated Baltimore in the divisional round of the playoffs last season by a 27-25 final score. They were aided by a drop and key fumble from Ravens star tight end Mark Andrews. Advertisement Baltimore certainly wants their revenge from that heartbreaking playoff loss. And the Bills get a chance to show they are still the top dog in the conference outside of Kansas City. Josh Allen Reveals Bills View of Battling Curtis Samuel

The 2024 season was not kind to Buffalo Bills wide receiver Curtis Samuel. After signing a three-year deal worth over $24 million, expectations were high for the former Washington Commander and Carolina Panther. There was just one problem, though. Advertisement His impact on the team wasn't anywhere close to what the Bills were expecting for a receiver who totaled over 600 yards in back-to-back years going into 2024. He finished last season with just 31 receptions for 253 yards and one touchdown. Things started to heat up in the playoffs, though. Samuel caught two touchdowns during Buffalo's postseason run, including one in the AFC Title game against the Kansas City Chiefs. It's one of the reasons why the Bills believe Samuel can get back on track moving forward. "I credit Curtis last year. He battled through a lot of different things, little tweaks here and there," said quarterback Josh Allen at the start of OTAs. "Getting him going there, late in the season, it's so big for us because we can utilize him in so many different positions, whether it's Z, F or the running back position. He can play outside, too. He's got the long speed that really helps this offense stretch a field." Advertisement Buffalo not giving up on Samuel is a great thing. It shows an organization that is both contending for a title and also being patient with newcomers. It's hard to replicate that kind of culture. But the Bills might not have a choice. Paying a receiver over $8 million to be their fifth option (which is what Samuel could be) is not good cap allocation. It's why even though the team doesn't want to give up on him, Samuel may be on his last run with the team.
