A Flower on Every Grave Event
Killeen, TX (FOX 44) – Victory for Veterans is proud to announce the return of its annual event, 'A Flower on Every Grave', now bigger and more impactful than ever.
This is an initiative that invites volunteers, veterans' organizations, and community members to honor our fallen service members by placing flowers at their project seeks to ensure that no veteran is ever forgotten, symbolized by placing a flower as an expression of gratitude and remembrance.
We spoke to C.W Horton, a veteran who reminds us why this day is so important. 'We want to keep in mind the price that has already been paid. It's not just paid by the veteran it's been paid by their children who grew up without parents. It's paid by their mothers and fathers that have given everything that they spent their life creating, so I think it's important that we honor them.'
Join Victory for Veterans Monday, May 26th at 8 am at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery to honor those who have served. A ceremony will follow shortly after 9am hosted by the city of Killeen.
