Southeast Spotlight: Five biggest June visits

June has become arguably the most important month in the recruiting calendar, with prospects crisscrossing the country on official visits and lining up announcement dates. Rivals national recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman looks at five Southeast prospects who are taking key visits this month. Brown will hit Texas, Texas A&M and LSU next – the final visits before locking in his college commitment. Advertisement No program has been pushing the in-state Tigers harder than the Aggies, which get Brown back for a fourth visit this off-season on June 13. Texas A&M has legitimate traction with the five-star defensive lineman. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH TEXAS A&M FANS AT TANK JONES - Alabama, June 20 Jones logged official visits to both Auburn and Miami so far with the latter making a strong push for the blue-chip defender. Jones has upcoming official visits planned to Texas A&M and Oregon, but the biggest stop on deck is a return to Tuscaloosa scheduled for June 20. Alabama has made Jones its top priority since Kalen DeBoer and Kane Womack landed in T-Town. As a summertime decision looms, the Crimson Tide get the final crack at Jones. We view Alabama as the team currently leading for the five-star edge defender. Advertisement SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH ALABAMA FANS AT TRISTEN KEYS - LSU, June 20 The nation's top receiver logged an official visit to Miami this weekend and will hit Auburn, Alabama and back to LSU before finalizing his college plans before his senior season. The five-star from Mississippi made an early call in favor of the Tigers, who are working feverishly to hang onto the elite pass-catcher's commitment. LSU is playing with a lead and getting Keys for his final visit looms large toward its chances of inking this year's No. 1 pass catcher. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH LSU FANS AT CEDERIAN MORGAN - Alabama, June 20 Morgan has logged official visits to Colorado and Georgia with some pivotal stops on the horizon. The second-ranked receiver in the Rivals250 will hit Florida, Auburn and Alabama before a July 2 commitment. Advertisement Since the beginning of this recruitment, the Iron Bowl programs have been pegged as the teams to beat. His last stop will be back in Tuscaloosa, as the Crimson Tide aim to separate even more with the in-state blue-chipper. BRALAN WOMACK - Ohio State, June 20 Womack wrapped up his first official visit to Florida, which made a massive impression on the top-ranked nickel defender in the Rivals250. The Gators, along with Auburn and Texas A&M, are working to play catch-up with the Buckeyes, who have been standing on a sizable lead for the past few months. Womack returns to the Shoe again on June 20 and since last summer, Ohio State has been the team to beat. Ryan Day and Tim Walton aim to seal the deal during Womack's final official before an August commitment. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH OHIO STATE FANS AT

Three Predictions: Ole Miss, Texas A, Shedeur Sanders

Rivals national recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman has three predictions on four-star quarterback Landon Duckworth, Texas A&M winning out for a top DB target and where Shedeur Sanders will land in the NFL Draft. Advertisement Ole Miss made a strong initial impression on Duckworth earlier this year. Florida State, Georgia and South Carolina – where Duckworth was previously committed – are in for officials. Our intel points to the Rebels being hard to beat for the touted passer. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH OLE MISS FANS AT TEXAS A&M WILL LAND TOP-100 TARGET Dorian Barney was on campus at Texas A&M three times last fall and nearly a fourth in January before weather derailed the four-star cornerback's plans to check out the Aggies. Since decommitting from Alabama, no school has hosted the top-100 recruit more than Texas A&M, which got him back to town as the team kicked off spring ball over the weekend. Advertisement After strong pushes from Ole Miss, Florida State, North Carolina and others, the arrow is pointing toward the Aggies and we feel good about their chances of landing Barney's commitment before long. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH TEXAS A&M FANS AT SHEDEUR SANDERS WON'T GET PAST THE GIANTS IN THE NFL DRAFT © Ron Chenoy-Imagn Images The New York Giants still need a long-term solution at quarterback after signing Russell Wilson to a one-year deal on Wednesday. Cam Ward is the quarterback with more upside to be an All-Pro but having covered Shedeur Sanders in high school and being a close observer since, there is no doubt in my mind that he can be a high-level game-manager in the NFL and operate a dynamic, high-flying offense. Advertisement Sanders has the skill-set to thrive under Brian Daboll and the aura to handle all things that come with playing quarterback in New York. The Giants will pick Sanders when they're on the clock next month in Green Bay. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH COLORADO FANS AT

Three Predictions: Micah Hudson, Ohio State, five-star QB transfers

© Annie Rice/Avalanche-Journal / USA TODAY NETWORK Rivals rankings director/transfer portal analyst Adam Friedman has three predictions on a five-star receiver, Ohio State defensive coordinator Matt Patricia and if a five-star quarterback will transfer. RELATED: Five former five-stars that will back up their rating after transferring MORE TRANSFER PORTAL: Latest news | Transfer search | Transfer Team Ranking | Football Player Ranking To say things have gone sideways for Hudson is a bit of an understatement. The five-star from the 2024 recruiting class was absolutely unstoppable at the high school level and could have signed with any college he wanted. The Texas native picked Texas Tech because of the strong relationship he built with the coaching staff and the belief that he would thrive in Lubbock. After an underwhelming freshman season with the Red Raiders, Hudson transferred to Texas A&M in mid-December. About a month after joining the Aggies, Hudson left the team for undisclosed reasons and he has yet to rejoin his new teammates. Texas A&M would love to have the talented receiver back but there is no timetable for his return. With Hudson in the fold, the Aggies would have a legitimate argument for the best receiver class in this transfer cycle. KC Concepcion, Mario Craver and Jonah Wilson are an impressive trio but Hudson's skill set would have given the Aggies a receiver corps that, on paper, would have been tough to match. Hudson's lack of production as a freshman and this latest bump in the road make it unlikely he fulfills the five-star projection. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH TEXAS A&M FANS AT © Junfu Han / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Apparently Ohio State can reload at key assistant coach positions much like it does on the recruiting trail. Defensive coordinator Jim Knowles is gone but former NFL head coach and star assistant coach Matt Patricia is taking his place. The longtime New England Patriots defensive coordinator arrives in Columbus with three Super Bowl rings and the credibility to immediately take over the Ohio State defense. One thing Knowles did a great job with during his time at Ohio State was making sure the Buckeyes were prepared to play a variety of defensive schemes. Ohio State had the personnel to allow Knowles to be as creative as he wanted and it resulted in the Buckeyes fielding the best defensive unit in college football. The 2025 Ohio State defense is shaping up to be a good one but the biggest question mark is at safety. All-American Caleb Downs has one of the safety positions locked down but the other spot is seemingly up for grabs. Malik Hartford, Jaylen McClain and Davison Igbinosun could end up in that role but odds are good that Patricia and the Buckeyes add a safety in the spring transfer window. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH OHIO STATE FANS AT The trajectory of a program can instantly change if they're able to land a big-time quarterback. That's why there is so much excitement when a five-star quarterback jumps onboard. The fact of the matter is that six of the 11 five-star quarterbacks from the 2022-24 classes have transferred at least once so the excitement can quickly turn to disappointment when they leave or don't pan out. In the 2024 class, five-stars Air Noland (South Carolina) and Julian Sayin (Ohio State) have already transferred. Dante Moore (Oregon), Jackson Arnold (Auburn) and Malachi Nelson (Boise State/UTEP) were all five-stars in the 2023 class. Walker Howard (Louisiana) was just one of two five-star quarterbacks in the 2022 class. With at least one quarterback from each of the three previous recruiting classes having transferred, a track record has emerged. So, which of the five-star quarterbacks from the 2025 class will end up transferring? Keelon Russell, Tavien St. Clair, Bryce Underwood, JuJu Lewis and Deuce Knight all seem like great fits at their respective schools but things can change in a hurry.
