Hikmat AlKaitoob shares her morning to evening beauty routine

Beauty by Sarah Joseph 13 hours ago My mornings are about discipline and intention. The first thing I do is pray—it's my moment of gratitude and grounding before the day even begins. Then, I hydrate with warm lemon water and move straight into skincare because taking care of yourself is the first step to looking and feeling powerful. My routine is simple but effective—cleanser, vitamin C serum, moisturizer, and SPF. Once I've taken care of myself, I review my schedule, align my priorities, and step into the day with clarity and confidence. How does your evening routine differ? Evenings are about unwinding and resetting. The energy shifts from 'getting things done' to 'recharging for the next day.' Skincare at night is about repair, so I use richer products—double cleansing, hydrating serums, retinol, and a night cream. I like to light a candle, disconnect from screens, and reflect on the day—what went well, what I can improve. Before I sleep, I pray again because no matter how chaotic the day was, faith in God keeps me centered. What are your go-to skincare products? Quality over quantity—I don't believe in cluttering my routine with unnecessary steps. A strong cleanser, a hydrating serum, and SPF are non-negotiable. I love a good vitamin C serum for brightness and a powerful night cream to keep my skin looking fresh. And of course, a great eye cream—because no matter how busy you are, tired eyes should never be part of your look. Are you a fan of masks? Absolutely. If I have an event, I'll use a hydrating mask the night before to get that glow. If my skin is feeling dull, I go for a brightening mask. If I need a deep cleanse, a clay mask does the job. How would you describe your approach to makeup? Effortless and simple, but elevated. I don't believe in hiding behind makeup—I use it to enhance, not to mask. Good skin is the foundation of any look, so I keep my base fresh and radiant. A little sculpting, a signature lip, and defined eyes—that's my formula. Makeup should empower you, not overwhelm you. What can always be found in your makeup bag? A perfect rose pink/nude lipgloss and a travel-size fragrance. Which fragrances are your current favourites? I love fragrances that ,ake a statement—bold, sophisticated, and unforgettable. Right now, I'm drawn to rich, warm scents with notes of oud and amber. I have been currently using The Night by Frederic Malle and A Goodnight Kiss by Roja. Talk us through your hair routine. Healthy hair is a priority, so I focus on care over rough styling. I usually do twice a week hydrating masks at the hairdresser. When I style it, I go for volume and movement—nothing too forced, just effortless and polished. What is the most unusual item in your makeup bag? A mini magnifying mirror – it helps me closely examine the finer details. A tiny vial of oud oil – it's my signature touch whenever I need a little extra presence. The Hero Buys Aēsop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque Dhs175.
