The joint programme aims to scale AI-focused startups within Hub71+ AI, the specialist vertical of the tech ecosystem. The initiative is designed to drive innovation across high-impact sectors from Abu Dhabi. A total of 26 startups from the Hub71 community have been selected to join the inaugural cohort. As revealed, participants will gain access to a tailored three-month curriculum. They will benefit from Google's global network of mentors, engineers, and product leaders. Additionally, Google Cloud credits will be offered. Top-performing startups may be eligible for up to $300,000 in credits. This is the highest tier of support available through the programme globally. They will also be considered for GCP ecosystem tier credit allocations to boost their technical capabilities. Previously, these startups had received support through Hub71's incentive programme, including: Up to AED 500,000 in total support AED 250,000 in in-kind services AED 250,000 in cash via a SAFE note and tailored mentorship Now, through this accelerator, they are gaining expanded access to business development opportunities, global experts, and technical resources within the Hub71+ AI ecosystem. Ahmad Ali Alwan, CEO of Hub71, stated that bringing the programme to Abu Dhabi marks a key milestone in positioning the city as a global hub for AI innovation. He emphasized the goal of empowering founders to create transformative technologies and compete globally. Doron Avni, Vice President of Government Affairs & Public Policy for Emerging Markets at Google, highlighted the role of startups in solving critical challenges with AI. He reported that the partnership will enable startups to access global expertise and infrastructure to build impactful solutions. Furthermore, Google will offer early-stage founders tailored playbooks and toolkits. It will also facilitate connections to its investment arms and Alphabet's wider network, potentially opening doors to new funding and commercial opportunities. The launch follows a strategic agreement signed in late 2024 to bring Google's startup programme to Abu Dhabi. The collaboration underscores a shared commitment to expanding digital infrastructure, attracting talent, and fostering cross-border innovation. As Abu Dhabi continues investing in emerging technologies, this accelerator represents a significant step in its journey to become a global center for AI. The selected startups are now well-positioned to scale breakthrough innovations from Abu Dhabi to the world.
